Cannabis is often viewed as harmless, but for some individuals, it can have serious mental health consequences.

Marijuana-induced psychosis is a real clinical condition that may include hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, disorganized thinking, and significant changes in mood or behavior. While some people recover completely, research suggests that a portion of individuals who experience substance-induced psychosis may later develop schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, making early evaluation and treatment critically important.

If you or someone you know experiences psychotic symptoms after using cannabis, don’t ignore the warning signs. Seeking professional help early can make a meaningful difference in long-term outcomes.

At Averte, we believe education, early intervention, and compassionate, individualized care can change lives.

A heartfelt thank you to the Wellbridge team for hosting such a wonderful evening of connection and collaboration. It was a pleasure spending time with dedicated behavioral health professionals who share a commitment to improving access to quality mental health care.

Events like these remind us that some of the most impactful ideas begin with a conversation. We are grateful for the opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, build new ones, and continue working together to support individuals and families across the behavioral health community.

August is National Wellness Month 🌿

Wellness isn’t about perfection. It’s about making small, intentional choices each day that support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

This month, take time to:
• Practice mindfulness and deep breathing
• Move your body in ways that feel good
• Prioritize quality sleep
• Check in with yourself and those around you
• Make space for rest and recovery

At Averte, we believe that meaningful wellness begins with compassionate, individualized care and the understanding that healing is a journey, not a destination.

Small steps today can create lasting change tomorrow.

🌞 Goodbye boredom. Hello creativity, connection, and community!

At Averte, we believe that meaningful engagement is an important part of supporting mental wellness. Throughout July, our Anti-Boredom Challenge encouraged residents to explore new activities, challenge their minds, express their creativity, and spread kindness.

From active adventures and brain boosters to creative projects and simple acts of compassion, every idea added to our community helped make this month a little brighter.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and shared their ideas. It’s amazing to see how small moments of inspiration can create lasting impact.

Here’s to continuing to stay curious, connected, and engaged every day. 💚

We’re looking forward to connecting with colleagues from across the behavioral health community at the 2026 Cape Cod Symposium on Addictive Disorders, taking place August 6 through 9 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

This symposium brings together leaders, clinicians, researchers, and industry partners to share ideas, explore emerging trends, and strengthen collaboration in behavioral healthcare.

Averte is proud to be part of these important conversations as we continue expanding access to compassionate, evidence-based mental health care.

If you’ll be attending, be sure to connect with Kristin Calderon, MBA, Global Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships. She would love the opportunity to discuss how Averte partners with professionals and organizations to support adults living with complex mental health needs.

We look forward to seeing you in Providence!

An evening of meaningful connection, thoughtful conversation, and shared purpose.

Averte was honored to co-host an incredible rooftop networking event with Austen Riggs, bringing together behavioral health professionals from across the region. It was inspiring to spend the evening connecting with colleagues who are equally committed to advancing compassionate, high-quality mental health care.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared ideas, strengthened relationships, and helped make the evening such a success. Collaboration is one of the most powerful ways we continue to improve care for the individuals and families we serve.

We are grateful to our partners at Austen Riggs for a wonderful evening and look forward to many more opportunities to connect with this outstanding community.
