Going to a cancer center with HOPE in its name... you know you're in the right place.

I made it home around midnight. Most flights were delayed from all the storms in the midwest. I'm grateful to have had minimal delays and got to sleep in my own bed knowing that I have another year of what I call "gravy time" (extra time). I am grateful. This sky was a reminder for me how beautiful life really is. Wishing you all a spectacular day.
I love you 💜

Luke is currently in the ICU battling a severe streptococcus infection that started from cellulitis in his leg. This sudden illness has forced him to be on IV antibiotics and under constant monitoring. With Luke expected to miss work for several weeks, their one-income household is facing significant financial strain.

The funds raised will help cover essential expenses like their mortgage, car payment, electricity, food, and medical bills.

Let's come together to support them during this challenging time. Please like, comment, and share this post to help spread the word and make a difference.

UPDATE: Luke is becoming more alert...which is a good sign!

We appreciate all the shares and donations. It will all help them a great deal so he can recover without this stressor.

Thank you!
Chris

For years, Chris Parrish dealt with symptoms that didn’t seem to make sense: indigestion, back pain, unexplained weight loss. “When I say awful, it was the worst acid reflux, gut awfulness that I've ever experienced."

She kept going back to her doctor for answers, but nothing seemed to explain it. It wasn’t until her symptoms became impossible to ignore that further testing finally revealed what was going on: Chris had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. At age 40, she was told she had six months to live.

After hearing the same prognosis more than once, Chris began exploring care elsewhere.

Chris traveled from Maine to City of Hope Chicago for a third opinion and committed to the care plan she and her team built together. “It was my job to beat cancer, and I was relentless in that job.”

More than 17 years later, Chris is still here and using her experience to support others facing the same diagnosis.
