Becoming a parent changes so much more than your daily routine.

It can change how you see yourself.

You may find yourself wondering:
Who am I outside of being a parent?
Why do I miss parts of my old life?
Why does everything feel so different?

These questions don’t mean you love your child any less.Parenthood often brings a profound shift in identity, and adjusting to that change takes time.

It’s okay to grieve the version of yourself you once knew while embracing the person you’re becoming.

You don’t have to choose between who you were and who you are now.

Both can exist.

Children won’t remember whether the house was spotless.

They’ll remember how they felt.

The biggest moments of connection often happen in the simplest ways:
🤍 Reading together before bed.
🤍 Dancing in the kitchen.
🤍 Going for a walk.
🤍 Eating dinner without distractions.
🤍 Laughing together.

Connection doesn’t require expensive trips or elaborate plans.
It simply requires presence.

This Family Fun Month, focus less on creating the “perfect” memories and more on creating meaningful ones.

What’s your family’s favorite way to connect?⬇️

How often have you caught yourself saying...

“I’m probably overreacting.”
“I’m being too sensitive.”
“It’s not that big of a deal.”

Before you dismiss your feelings, pause and ask yourself:
• Have I been holding this in for too long?
• Has someone made me feel like my emotions don’t matter?
• Am I carrying someone else’s expectations?
• Have I actually had time to process what I’m feeling?

Your emotions aren’t something to silence.

They’re information. They deserve curiosity, not criticism.

You don’t have to shrink your feelings to make other people comfortable.

Your feelings are valid.

August is National Wellness Month 💛

Wellness isn’t another item to check off your to-do list.

It’s asking yourself:
• Have I eaten today?
• Have I had a moment to breathe?
• Am I giving myself the same compassion I give everyone else?

True wellness isn’t perfection. It’s noticing what you need and allowing yourself to respond with kindness.

This month, we invite you to redefine wellness.

Small moments matter. Therapy can be one of those moments.

1 in 5 women experience a mental health condition during pregnancy or the first year postpartum. Yet, many never receive the support they need. 💛

Pregnancy and postpartum can bring incredible joy—but they can also bring anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and other mental health challenges.

These struggles are common.
They are treatable.
And they are never a sign of weakness.

Too many parents suffer in silence because they believe what they’re feeling is “just part of becoming a parent,” they’re afraid of being judged, or they simply don’t know help is available.

You deserve support if you’re:
🤍 Feeling overwhelmed most days
🤍 Constantly anxious or on edge
🤍 Struggling to bond with your baby
🤍 Feeling numb, hopeless, or unlike yourself
🤍 Replaying a difficult birth experience
🤍 Experiencing intrusive or distressing thoughts

You don’t have to wait until you’re at a breaking point to reach out. Seeking support is a sign of strength, and healing is possible.

If this sounds like you—or someone you love—know that you’re not alone. There is help, there is hope, and you deserve both.

Somewhere along the way, we started celebrating exhaustion.

Being the one who never stops.
Always saying yes.
Putting everyone else’s needs before your own.
Running on caffeine and little sleep.
Feeling guilty every time you rest.

But constantly being overwhelmed isn’t a sign that you’re doing life “right.” It’s often a sign that you’ve been carrying too much for too long.

Burnout can look like:
✨ Feeling emotionally drained
✨ Irritability over small things
✨ Difficulty concentrating
✨ Losing interest in things you once enjoyed
✨ Constant fatigue, even after sleeping
✨ Feeling like you’re always in survival mode

Rest isn’t something you have to earn.
Setting boundaries doesn’t make you selfish.
Asking for help doesn’t make you weak.

Taking care of yourself isn’t taking away from the people you love—it’s what allows you to keep showing up for them.

You deserve a life that feels sustainable, not just survivable.

If burnout has become your normal, it may be time to check in with yourself. You don’t have to navigate it alone. 💛

Black Maternal Mental Health Week💛 a time to raise awareness, amplify voices, and recognize the challenges many Black mothers face during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

Every mother deserves to feel heard. Every concern deserves to be taken seriously. Every family deserves access to compassionate, culturally responsive mental health care.

Together, we can help create a future where every Black mother has the support, resources, and care she needs to thrive.

Sometimes what looks like “bad behavior” is really a child communicating distress in the only way they know how…

Instead of asking “Why are they giving me such a hard time?”

Try asking “What might they be going through?” 💛

Shifting this perspective helps us move from frustration to empathy — and gives kids the support they actually need.
