We appreciate the opportunity to connect and look forward to continued collaboration in support of healthier communities.

The 340B program helps community health centers like Apicha CHC provide affordable, life-saving care to the patients who need it most.

For many Medicaid, Medicare, uninsured, and low-income patients, 340B helps support:

• HIV prevention and treatment services
• medications and pharmacy access
• primary and preventive care
• behavioral health support
• culturally responsive healthcare services

Without these protections, many safety-net providers across New York could face increased barriers to delivering essential care in underserved communities.

That’s why New York must pass the 340B Anti-Discrimination Act (A.6222/S.1913).

340B is more than a policy — it helps patients access the care, medications, and support they deserve.

“I thought my life was over after my HIV diagnosis.”

That fear is real. BUT so is the science, support, and care available today.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re breaking down some of the most common stigmas surrounding HIV and replacing fear with facts.

At Apicha Community Health Center:

✨ HIV is treatable
✨ People living with HIV can live long, healthy lives
✨ U=U means Undetectable = Untransmittable
✨ You cannot get or give HIV from sharing a drink
✨ Compassionate care and mental health support matter

Stigma can affect mental health, relationships, and access to care — but no one should have to navigate that journey alone.

This short film was created to support newly diagnosed individuals, reduce HIV stigma, and remind our communities that education empowers healing.
