Ancient Song is a national birth justice organization.

We do this by ensuring that all pregnant, postpartum, and parenting people of color have access to high-quality, holistic doula care and services regardless of their ability to pay. We provide doula training and services, offer community education, and advocate for policy change to support reproductive and birth justice.

Reproductive Rights were on the ballot in Nevada, Virginia, Missouri, and Idaho this Midterm election season. 3 out of the 4 states voted to protect those rights.

Reproductive care is healthcare. It is lifesaving and necessary and the government shouldn't be making decisions about women's bodies.

REMINDER 📢 The Birth Institute's universal application is closing soon‼️

Ancient Song Doula Services is accepting applications for the 2027 cohorts of the Birth Justice Institute (BJI) and the Birth Equity Taskforce.

Applicants may apply to one or both programs, as each plays a distinct but interconnected role in advancing intersectional, community-led birth justice across New York and New Jersey.

The 2027 Institute runs January–November 2027

Pregnancy Justice has found that pregnancy criminalization is rising and it's doing so at an alarmingly high rate.

Since SCOTUS overturned Roe v. Wade, they've found over 900 cases where pregnant people were prosecuted for reasons related to pregnancy, pregnancy loss, or birth outcomes. Nearly a thousand cases in just three years. For reference, there were only 1,809 of those cases counted in an entire FIFTY years before Dobbs.

Here's the real issue. The majority of these charges did NOT require prosecutors to actually prove harm to a fetus or newborn.

Barbara Palvin is right. Most moms in America return to work 6-8 weeks after giving birth if not even sooner. That's the conversation we want to have.

The United States is the only wealthy country without a paid maternity leave policy. Some moms want to go back to work. Some moms want to be at home for a year. Some want to leave the workforce entirely. Every mom should be able to make that choice instead of being forced in or out.
