Five years later, we continue to remember Michael K. Williams, a powerful artist, advocate, and beloved member of the Brooklyn community.

Michael used his voice to challenge stigma and open conversations around mental health and substance use, particularly among Black and Brown men.

His legacy lives through the Michael K. Williams Legacy Award, established at our 56th Anniversary Celebration, honoring changemakers at the intersection of artistry, activism, and healing.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Brooklyn Health & Resource Fair!

With the support of our community partners, 45 vendors, and incredible resources, including health screenings, mammogram and prostate screening vans, the FDNY truck, and the NYPD Community Affairs Rock Wall, we brought valuable services and resources directly to our community.

A special shout-out to Senator Jabari Brisport, Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, Councilmember Crystal Hudson, and Assemblymember Phara Souffrant Forrest for their continued support of StartCare’s mission to promote health and wellness across our communities.
