✨ BIG NEWS at Studio A Body Therapy! ✨

We’re beyond proud to share that Studio A now has TWO officially trained Somatic Experiencing® Practitioners!🎉

(From what we understand, there are only 2 Licensed Massage Therapists who are also Somatic Experiencing Practitioners in the state of Indiana, and they are both at Studio A!)

After 3 years of dedicated training, learning, growth, and deep commitment, Julia has officially completed her Somatic Experiencing training and will continue to see 1:1 clients for this important work. 🤍

Julia, we are SO proud of you! Your dedication to this work and the care you bring to supporting others is truly something special. 🌿

What if your body isn’t just asking for relief… but asking to be heard? 🤍

Feel to Heal is an 8-week, somatically-oriented, trauma-informed program exploring the connection between emotions, stress, and the body—especially when it shows up as chronic tension or pain (physically or emotionally).

Together, we’ll learn to:
✨ Understand how stress and emotions affect the body
✨ Tune into your body’s signals and “felt sense”
✨ Build capacity to safely move through difficult emotions
✨ Release held emotional charge
✨ Create more ease and flow in the body
✨ Explore a different approach to persistent tension and pain

No need to share your personal stories or process in front of the group. This is not group therapy—it’s a small, supportive space to learn, explore, and experience your body in a new way.

If you’ve tried massage, myofascial work, PT, exercise, or other approaches and keep finding yourself back at the same place… this may be worth exploring.

🌿 8 weeks | Thursdays | 6:45–8:45 PM
📅 Begins Thursday, September 10
👥 Small group
⚠️ Only 6 spots left

Come curious. Come exactly as you are. Let’s explore what your body has been trying to tell you. 🧡 https://www.studioabody.com/feel-to-heal

Ever feel like an emotion just takes over? One second you're fine, the next you're snapping at someone you love, shutting down completely, or replaying something for hours and you can't figure out why it has this much power over you.

You're not broken. You're not "too sensitive." Your body just never learned a way to move through big feelings — so it either buries them or gets flooded by them. And living like that is exhausting.

Feel to Heal is an 8-week program that teaches you how to actually work with your emotions in real time — in your body, not just in your head — so they stop running the show. No group therapy, no oversharing, no pressure to perform healing. Just practical tools you can use the next time life hits hard.

Our next round starts September 10, and for the first time in a while, we've got real room in the group. So we're doing something we don't normally do:

✨ Flash sale: 15% off through Saturday — use code FLASH15 at checkout ✨ And if cost is the thing standing between you and this work, we have a limited number of sliding scale spots — just reach out.

This one fills up fast when people find out about it. If your nervous system has been asking for a different way to handle the hard stuff, this is it.

**STUDIO A IS NOW HIRING**

We are actively seeking to hire an additional massage therapist (part-time) who is sensitive, empathetic, strives for excellence, and wants to join a team of 5 focused on bringing bodywork, education, and resources to those seeking to heal from stress and trauma. It is not easy work, but it is rewarding, and you would be joining an established team with a lot of experience and a developed ethos and culture of safety, respect, and ongoing learning. We work very closely with local mental health clinicians to collaborate on client care, and have established a well-defined scope and best practices for providing trauma-informed massage.

Training in becoming trauma-informed would be provided upon hiring. The role may also include working with community partners to deliver trauma-informed massage to first responders in other locations.

Please note that this role is to provide trauma-informed massage, which is different from somatic work. Studio A also provides somatic sessions to help renegotiate the survival energy and biophysiological responses borne out of traumatic experiences, but that requires an additional 3 years of training by Somatic Experiencing International and the NARM Training Institute.

Ideally we would begin with 10-15 hours per week and gradually increase as demand grows (there is already demand). I am not opposed to it eventually turning into full-time for the right candidate. Compensation will be discussed during interviews.

If interested in applying for the role, please submit your resume to [email protected]. Thank you!

Three years ago, I created Release & Refresh because I couldn't find anything quite like it out there. It's been such a steady offering here at the studio, and I'm so grateful for everyone who has shown up to stretch, drop in to their body, and gain awareness of what they're carrying.

I want to share that this class, in its current form, has come to a close. And I'll be honest, there's real tenderness in that for me. When I got in my car to go home after the last class this week, I sat for a bit to reflect on how bittersweet the moment felt. This has always felt like an extension of me, so retiring it in its current form means letting go of something I love, even as I trust what's coming next.

It's time for something new, one that reflects where my practice is now. At its heart, this work has always been about engaging the body to shift how we respond to and move through the pains, emotions, and difficulties of life, finding ways of handling it all that don't cost us so much or drain our systems so quickly. That thread is exactly what I want to pull further into this next chapter, and I'm making space to let the creative process unfold rather than rushing it.

We remain committed to offering an affordable, accessible drop-in class that's a welcoming entry point into somatic work. What will change is the shape it takes, bringing in new, fresh elements that help you notice what your body is holding, move through it, and expand the innate resilience that's there.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, breathed, moved, and trusted this process with me over these three years. More details on the new offering coming soon, expect it late September or mid October.

From Chuck DeGroat, a well-respected trauma therapist and professor that I admire and follow:

"Maybe you saw the viral headline “The Body Does Not Keep The Score,” an article largely repeating what we already know, dramatically launched into the headlines with a false binary, sadly utilizing the very things trauma makes us prone to — reactivity, polarization, all or nothing thinking. A title and headline seeking clicks.

Of course, there is no one better (in my opinion) to break it all down than trauma therapist and adjunct prof in the Western clinical counseling program Ryan Kuja."

⏳ Last call, friends — registration closes soon!

If you've been on the fence about the YES/NO & Letting Go Workshop this Saturday, now is the time to decide. 🙂

This is a full-day somatic workshop where we slow down and get curious about how your body holds your yes, your no, your boundaries, and your sense of personal power. It's not just a concept — it's something you can feel, explore, and actually practice in a safe and gentle space.

You'll be guided by me (Allie Whitney, LMT, SEP) and Michael Trexler, Ph.D., LMHC of Peace of Mind Counseling & Wellness — and together we bring over 20 years of clinical and somatic experience to this work.

📅 Saturday, June 6 | 9:30am–4:30pm
📍 Studio A Body Therapy, Brownsburg

There’s a skill most of us were never really taught — and it’s one of the most foundational things you can develop: knowing and feeling your YES and your NO.

Not just thinking through a decision, but actually sensing it in your body. The contraction. The expansion. The tightening in your chest that says no even when your mouth says yes. The quiet sense of aliveness that signals something is right for you, even when it’s hard to explain why.

How you make choices, how much space you allow yourself to take up, how you set — or struggle to set — boundaries, how you relate to your own sense of personal power... all of this is held in the body. And so the path to getting clearer on any of it runs through the body.

That’s what our upcoming YES/NO & Letting Go Workshop is about.

YES/NO & Letting Go | Saturday, June 6 | 9:30am–4:30pm

Dr. Michael Trexler from Peace of Mind Counseling & Wellness and Allie Whitney, LMT, SEP will guide you through a full day of exploration — working with your body’s signals around autonomy, choice, and boundaries in a playful, safe, and deeply supportive environment. We’ll also make room for the emotions that naturally come up when we start reclaiming our YES and our NO: the grief, the anger, the relief.

This is for you if you:

👉 Find yourself saying yes when you mean no (or vice versa)

👉 Want clearer access to your own inner knowing

👉 Are working on boundary-setting and want to understand it at a body level

👉 Want to feel more at home in your sense of self and personal power

👉 Are curious about consent and self-ownership on a deeper level

Informed by Polyvagal Theory, trauma science, attachment research, somatics, and emotional intelligence — this is serious work held in a very gentle container.

Cost: $139 (Sliding scale available — just reach out.)
