Last week, our 2026 local Mercy Award winners from Harris Regional Hospital, Swain Community Hospital and Haywood Regional Medical Center traveled to Nashville for Lifepoint Health’s annual Mercy Award celebration — and each was also a finalist for Lifepoint’s companywide Mercy Award.

We were incredibly proud to have our hospitals represented by:

💙 Kim Self, Facilities Coordinator — Harris Regional Hospital
💙 Jamie Booze, BSN, RN, Med/Surg & Restorative Care Director — Swain Community Hospital
💙 Casey Cantrell, RN, Emergency Department — Haywood Regional Medical Center

The Mercy Award is the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive. Each year, Lifepoint facilities select a local recipient who exemplifies the company’s values through compassion, service, integrity and a meaningful commitment to patients, coworkers and community. Those local honorees then become finalists for the companywide Mercy Award.

Kim, Jamie and Casey each represented their hospitals with distinction, and we were so glad they had the opportunity to be celebrated alongside fellow Mercy Award finalists from across Lifepoint.

Congratulations once again to our 2026 local Mercy Award winners and companywide finalists! We are grateful for the difference they make every day and thankful for another opportunity to recognize them for this meaningful honor. 💙👏

From shelter to service. 🐾💙

Meet Boots, the newest four-legged member of the Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital communities! After beginning her story at Jackson County Animal Shelter, Boots has found a new way to make a difference as a certified therapy dog.

Alongside her owner and handler, Lilly Ferguson, Boots will visit patients at both hospitals, offering companionship, affection and a comforting presence during their hospital stay.

We’re excited for our patients and families to meet Boots and experience the joy and connection she brings wherever she goes!

As National Breastfeeding Month comes to a close, we're proud to recognize the families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals who make breastfeeding support possible every day. 💛

Breastfeeding offers lasting benefits for both babies and mothers, supporting healthy growth, development, and lifelong wellness. Every family's journey is unique, and we're honored to provide education, encouragement, and compassionate care along the way.

A special thank you to our Board Certified Lactation Consultants for the care and support they provide to families through the New Generations Family Birthing Center—not just this month, but all year long. 🤍
