Opal Marie Sadler Bonenberger, 88, was called from this life into God’s eternal care on August 12, 2026, in Palm Coast, Florida. She was born on November 15, 1937, in Paxton, Illinois, the daughter of Jasper Edward Sadler and Daisy Blanche Page Sadler. Opal was the youngest daughter of the couple’s three girls.
Opal was welcomed into Heaven by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Bobby Dean Bonenberger, Sr., who had previously gone home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2024.
Opal was a Baptist and a member of Grace Bible Church in Benton, Illinois. She was a woman of unwavering faith with loyal dedication. She lived her beliefs through kindness and love for her family and friends. Opal had a beautiful way of bringing warmth and a smile wherever she went, making the people around her feel loved. A loyal wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was truly the joy and wit of our family.
She was employed as a transcriptionist with the Franklin County Coroner’s Office and worked in the law offices at the C. A. Jackson Building on the square in Benton, Illinois, the same upstairs offices that both her sisters and later her daughter worked in.
For many years, Opal also worked for and excelled with Prudential Insurance Company. After her retirement, she joined Bob and the staff at Barton & Collins Furniture & Appliance.
