Unlock Your Squat Workshop went down Monday night with the hardworkers šŸ’Ŗ

And we got into it!

Not all squat limitations are mobility issues, they can be control problems.

Pass mobility tests, but have trouble getting to depth under load?

Your body doesn’t like to use positions that it doesn’t trust šŸ‘€

We’re big fans of spending time in the bottom of your squat. It’s one thing to lift heavy, but can you OWN that bottom position? Some cultures eat meals while holding a squat…let that sink in and get comfy down there!

These folks were workin’ HARD last night at the Ready to RIDE class.

Who’s tried banded planks from the rig? Lower down to the bottom of a push up or your descending position on your mountain bike for a little extra šŸŒ¶ļø

The last class is next week and if the rain ever stops in VT we’ll be on the trails 🚵

Now —> Dec, 2023

This is Teddy. Yesterday he hit a post injury (pain-free!) back squat at 350lb.

In Dec 2023 he had lumbar disc herniations that were so severe that he had drop foot in his right leg accompanied by a sensation of a hot rod piercing into his calf. Fun 🄓

When you’re ā€œin itā€ it feels like that badness is forever vs temporary. That doesn’t make it easy though!

No surgery. Just a plan, understanding of the process and journey ahead, and discipline to follow through.

Congrats on the PR, Teddy. Hope you made yourself proud! šŸ’Ŗ

PS—if you’re wondering what Teddy has a particular knack for treating, um…it’s back pain šŸ˜…

ā€˜Tis the season 🚲

Bike fits have been ramping UP and we are READY for it!

Some before, during, and after shots from today. Subtle tweaks on the bike lead to big changes in comfort and performance šŸ™Œ

Few snippets from the Ready to RIDE class last night who came ready to WORK.

We’re setting the stage to BUILD over the next 6-weeks.

…bike season will be here before we know it šŸ”„

Where are you looking forward to riding?! šŸšµā€ā™€ļø

ā€œGet back to baselineā€¦ā€ But what if baseline was the problem?

If your baseline included strength deficits, mobility limitations, or movement patterns that led to injury… going back there just sets you up for the same problem again.

Let’s tweak this thought.

Rehab isn’t about rewinding the clock.

It’s about helping you come back stronger, more resilient, and better prepared for the miles, rides, lifts, and adventures you love.

Because the goal isn’t baseline.

It’s leveling up.

Soon, folks! In the meantime, let’s get you ready for 🚵

6-week MTB prep series coming uuuuppppp!

Join us March 18 for the first class of Ready to RIDE 🤘

This class series includes a weekly in-person workout, an at-home workout, access to open gym hours at HWPO GYM VT, with all workouts uploaded to the app. PLUS, we will email you the programming weekly so you have it for rainy days.

Shoutout to our friend, David Austin, owner of who puts in the work off-the-bike so he can fly high and slide down all of the big slabs VT has to offer. And, his body can handle the impact when things don’t go to plan šŸ˜‰

Rubber side down is always the goal and not always the outcome…strength training for mountain biking is basically to keep your body durable! šŸ˜…
