On May 25, 2020, George Floyd was murdered by police who used vastly excessive force along with their racist beliefs and attitudes. A perfect example of systemic racism in America.

If you have fears/concerns about what's happening in America right now, I want you to feel safe to discuss this in therapy and to know that your concerns will be taken seriously. If your nervous system is especially on edge right now, that makes perfect sense, and discussing it may be helpful.

While some therapists may prefer to appear neutral on issues about human rights, social justice, and lawless I.C.E. agents terrorizing the people we care about, neutrality ISN'T what you'll see in your therapy sessions here.

Neutrality always works in favor of the oppressor. Therapy is political. It is fair for you to want to know where your therapist stands—and votes—on issues that affect the human rights and safety of those you love (and yourself). 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🇵🇸

I live in a conservative county in a conservative state (KY). Every year our county has a Pumpkin Walk, when anyone can submit their Jack-o-lantern to be viewed by hundreds of locals. So, every year since 2019, I’ve submitted the “scariest” (to conservatives, at least) Jack-o-lantern I can think of. This year, hundreds of conservatives will have to see the thing they fear most… 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️😋
