Recently, our Volunteer Services department was asked to find a volunteer to support a resident in one of our higher levels of care - specifically, someone who could help him continue practicing his sewing skills. Bonnie, an active member of our Quilt and Sew Forth group, enthusiastically stepped up to help.

Bonnie enjoys these opportunities, and shares that it allows both of them to connect through a hobby they love. Together, they are not only sewing, but also building a meaningful connection - one stitch at a time.

We're grateful for residents like Bonnie, whose kindness and willingness to help others truly make Twin Lakes Community shine.

What an incredible morning at our Red, White & Cruise Car Show!
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate our Nation’s 250th Anniversary in such a fun and festive way. From the amazing lineup of classic cars to the lively tunes by Becky King, the atmosphere was unforgettable. A special shoutout to Rise and Sip for keeping us fueled with their delicious coffee at the pop-up tent - a perfect touch to a perfect day! We loved seeing our community come together to celebrate, connect, and cruise into summer in style.

A perfect spring evening, great music, and even better company.

Last night, residents gathered at the Sullivan Park patio for a back porch concert featuring one of our very own residents, Larry, and his band, The Usual Suspects. A group of local musicians who have been playing together in various bands for more than 15 years, they brought decades of beloved hits to life. The band played a mix of ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s favorites - from The Beatles and Creedence Clearwater Revival to Simon & Garfunkel, Eric Clapton, John Denver, and more. Many residents also enjoy seeing Larry perform regularly at the Blue Heron right here on campus.

Moments like these - shared outdoors, surrounded by friends and music - are what make life at Twin Lakes so special.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage and sacrifice have given us the freedoms we cherish every day.
At Twin Lakes Community, we are especially grateful to be surrounded by residents who have worn the uniform, served with honor, and carried forward the spirit of dedication and patriotism. Your service, your stories, and your example mean more than words can express.
As we gather this Memorial Day, we remember those who did not come home, and we hold close the families and friends who carry their legacy. May we take a moment of reflection, gratitude, and unity - honoring the past while appreciating the present.

What a magical journey back to summer camp!
Our talented Twin Lakes Choir recently brought the spirit of summer to life with their Spring Concert, “Songs We Sang at Camp.” From nostalgic sing-alongs to those unforgettable tunes that stay with you for a lifetime, the performance was filled with joy, laughter, and beautiful memories.
The warmth of familiar melodies, combined with the incredible voices of our residents, created a truly special experience for everyone who attended. It was more than a concert - it was a celebration of connection, nostalgia, and the timeless power of music.
A heartfelt thank you to our choir members for sharing their passion and talent, and for reminding us all of the simple magic of gathering together in song.

Twin Lakes' LifeWise programming recently welcomed Tim, one of our residents, for a fascinating presentation, “From First Flight to Marine One: A Life in Aviation.”
From an early airplane ride at just six years old to logging thousands of flight hours, Tim shared the story of how a childhood experience grew into a lifelong passion for aviation. That passion ultimately led to selection for HMX-1, the U.S. Marine Corps’ elite helicopter squadron responsible for presidential transport.
During the presentation, Tim brought history to life with stories from service during both the Carter and Reagan administrations, including firsthand experiences and personal interactions with each president. Attendees also enjoyed behind-the-scenes moments, unexpected stories, and reflections that highlighted a truly remarkable career.
The presentation concluded with insights into Tim's journey beyond military service and what led to life at Twin Lakes.
Thank you to everyone who attended and to Tim for sharing such an inspiring and unforgettable story!

Each spring, we look forward to a special evening dedicated to celebrating the generosity and spirit of our Twin Lakes donors.
This year’s gathering brought everyone together for an enjoyable evening of great food, meaningful connections, and wonderful entertainment by . It was a joy to spend time in fellowship with those who make our mission possible.
For more than 40 years, the support of our donors - through gifts both large and small - has helped bring the vision of our founders, Wade and Agnes Coble, to life. Because of this generosity, Twin Lakes is able to provide financial assistance to residents and extend support to vital community organizations such as Meals on Wheels, Alamance Elder Care, and Legal Aid of North Carolina.
Last year alone, Twin Lakes provided more than $2 million in community benefit -a reflection of the incredible impact our donors make, many of whom proudly call Twin Lakes home.
We are deeply grateful for their continued support as we carry forward our mission of celebrating the progression of life and the dignity of every individual.
