I’m not a master gardener, but I really enjoy it. I encourage my kids to help. Its messy. Its stressful, but that’s ok. I’m not a perfect parent either but I try to let them help anytime they ask. Its messy. Its stressful, but that’s ok. We take these moments for granted until one day, they no longer want to help. We also judge ourselves for getting frustrated. Just stop expecting perfection & the frustration goes away. Don’t miss these opportunities for true connection and QT. They matter more than any sport you put them in or any name brand clothes you buy. Take it from me, an attachment focused therapist who hears all day, every day about the things that traumatize people. It is less often the big T (r**e murder, abuse), but rather, what they didn’t get from their parents. the big tease.
