Some insight from my friend on Wellness Wednesday!
Healing shows up in so many places.
Sometimes it looks like going for a walk and watching two bunnies chase each other and feeling something soften in your chest that you didn't even know was tight.
Sometimes it looks like going to the gym and punching the hell out of a punching bag until something releases.
Sometimes it's going into the bathroom at work and silent screaming until the frustration moves through.
Sometimes it's having the hard conversation. And sometimes it's choosing no conversation at all.
Sometimes it's writing a rage letter and burning it.
Sometimes it's just this one breath. Not box breathing. Not a technique. Just air in and air out the way your body does naturally, without being told how.
For a long time, I thought I was doing healing wrong. I thought it had to look like bubble baths and yoga. Neither of which I enjoy. So I figured there was something broken in me.
There wasn't. I just hadn't found my version of healing yet.
Healing is not one-size-fits-all. It never was.
Part of healing is the adventure of figuring out what healing actually looks like for you. Not what works for someone else. Not what looks good on the outside. What actually works for you.
I often get asked what someone should do about a specific situation. My answer is almost always the same.
What would benefit your healing most?
You know more than you think you do. Your nervous systems are already telling you. We just get really good at overriding them.
So if screaming is what your body needs today, that is just as valid as a slow mindful walk. One is not better than the other. Both are healing. Both count.
Whatever it looks like for you today, that belongs.
