Hello September 🍂

A brand new month means new goals, fresh energy, and all the cozy autumn vibes.

Let’s make this month an amazing one!

When someone we love is going through a devastating loss, it is completely normal to feel helpless. We often want to say or do the perfect thing, but the truth is that your quiet presence matters more than perfect words. ❤️

Instead of asking how you can help, try shifting to concrete actions. Drop off a meal on the porch, take out their trash, or run a quick errand. Small, practical actions relieve the overwhelming burden of decision-making during deep grief.

Let's remember to show up for our friends not just today, but in the long weeks and months ahead when the initial support fades. 🌟

Today is National Grief Awareness Day. Grief is a deeply personal journey, and there is no "right" way to navigate it. Sometimes the best thing we can do is simply be there for one another, without judgment or expectations.

Take a moment today to check in on a friend who has experienced loss, or give yourself permission to feel whatever is in your heart. We are all walking each other home. 🤍

Honoring Legacy & Supporting Our Community 🏍️❤️

Chandler Funeral Home was honored to sponsor this year’s Legacy Ride benefiting Hospice of Guernsey! We are especially glad that Bryan was able to participate in the ride this year alongside so many incredible supporters.

We want to send a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Guernsey and all of our local hospice organizations for the compassionate care, dignity, and dedication they bring to families throughout our community every single day. The work you do truly makes a difference.

Today we pause to remember the beautiful, unconditional love of the pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

They may no longer be by our side, but their paw prints are permanently left on our hearts. 🐾🌈

Losing someone far from home adds complexity to an already painful journey.

If you're navigating arrangements across state or international lines, know this: you're not alone, and it's manageable.

We've created a free guide to walk you through exactly what to expect. 💙

When a loved one passes away far from home, arranging their return requires coordinating between two funeral homes—one where they passed and one near where services will be held—a process that experienced funeral directors handle routinely to spare families the logistical burden during grief. Wishing you had called hospice sooner? You're not alone.

Many families don't realize hospice means comfort, dignity, and quality time —not giving up. If you're considering it, start the conversation today. We're here to help. 💙

Being in hospice care sounds very similar to being in the hospital to most people. If you have not had a personal experience with hospice care, or know someone who has, you may not be aware of the difference.

🪦 Cemetery Spotlight
Dudley Cemetery – Olive Township, Noble County, Ohio

This week's Cemetery Spotlight takes us to Dudley Cemetery in Olive Township, one of Noble County's quiet country cemeteries.

Nestled among the rolling hills of Olive Township, Dudley Cemetery serves as the final resting place for generations of local families whose lives helped shape our community. The nearby community of Dudley grew after the railroad arrived in 1871, and the village was later platted in 1877. The area itself traces its roots back to some of Olive Township's earliest pioneer families, including the Dudley family, for whom the community was named.

This cemetery has always held a special place in my heart.

Growing up, my father, my brother, and I spent countless hours here opening and closing graves. Those days taught me that every burial is more than a job—it is an opportunity to serve a family during one of life's most difficult moments with dignity and respect.

Today, Dudley Cemetery is even more meaningful because it is where my father now rests. Someday, it will also be my own final resting place.

Every time I visit, I'm reminded that cemeteries are more than collections of monuments. They are places where family histories are preserved, memories are shared, and generations remain connected.

Thank you to all the families who have trusted us through the years. It has been an honor to serve this community.

Today, we join people around the world in remembering the incomparable Dolly Parton.

Dolly will always be remembered for her extraordinary music, unmistakable personality, deep faith and generous heart. One part of her legacy that I have always especially admired was Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write, Dolly created a program that mails free, age-appropriate books to children from birth to age five. What began in her home county in Tennessee grew into an incredible worldwide effort that has helped millions of children discover the joy of reading.

Her music entertained generations, but her kindness helped shape generations yet to come. That may be one of the most beautiful legacies anyone could leave behind.

Rest in peace, Dolly. Your songs, your spirit and the dreams you planted in the hearts of children will live on. ❤️📚
