đź“Ł Autism Research Study Seeking Adult Participants
Personalized Therapy is sharing a research opportunity for adults ages 18–35 with autism. The study is still active and accepting participants.
🔬 What is TB006?
TB006 is an experimental medication given through an IV. It is designed to block a protein called galectin-3, which researchers believe may contribute to inflammation in the brain. Researchers are testing whether blocking this protein may help with autism-related challenges.
What improvements are researchers looking for?
The study measures changes in areas including:
* Irritability and challenging behaviors
* Anxiety and fears
* Attention and hyperactivity
* Communication and social interaction
* Repetitive behaviors
* Sensitivity to sounds, touch and other sensations
* Everyday living skills
What phase is the study in?
This is a Phase 2 clinical trial. At this stage, researchers study whether a medication may help people with the condition while continuing to evaluate side effects and safety.
The study is randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled. Participants are assigned by chance to receive TB006 or a matching IV without the medication. During the blinded portion, participants and the team evaluating them do not know which treatment they received. This helps researchers make a fair comparison.

🔹 Richard Frye, MD, PhD — A board-certified child neurologist specializing in neurodevelopmental disorders. He earned his MD and PhD at Georgetown University and completed child-neurology residency and fellowship training at Harvard/Boston Children’s Hospital.

🔹 Daniel Rossignol, MD, FAAFP, FMAPS — A board-certified family physician and autism researcher. He earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia and completed his residency at the University of Virginia. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs.
