Camden Treatment Associates was honored to attend the Camden County Breaking the Stigma Lunch & Learn yesterday. The event brought together community leaders, healthcare professionals, advocates, and individuals with lived experience to discuss ways to reduce stigma and improve access to treatment and recovery services.

One of the key takeaways was that words matter. Education, compassion, and person-centered language can help break down barriers that prevent people from seeking help.

As an opioid treatment program, we also recognize the stigma that often surrounds methadone treatment. Despite being a safe, evidence-based, and life-saving medication, misconceptions continue to impact those receiving care. Recovery looks different for everyone, and medication-assisted treatment is a valid pathway to recovery.

Thank you to the Camden County Board of Commissioners, the Addiction Awareness Task Force, Cooper University Health Care, and all of the panelists for fostering this important conversation.

This week in IOP, Sharonda brought some creativity and fun into the space with a themed Spirit Week inspired by Alice in Wonderland 🫖♠️

Recovery can sometimes feel like stepping into a whole new world, unfamiliar, challenging, and even a little chaotic at times. But just like Alice’s journey, it’s also full of growth, self-discovery, and finding your way.

Our clients got hands-on and created their own centerpieces, each one unique and reflective of their creativity and individuality. Moments like this remind us that recovery isn’t just about the hard work, it’s also about connection, expression, and building something meaningful along the way.
