Michael J. Frazier

age 48, of Somerville, unexpectedly passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026.

He was born on December 31, 1977, in Oxford to his parents Gary Jerome and Peggy J. (Brown) Frazier.

Mike was preceded in death by his dad, Gary; his maternal grandparents, Linda and Jimmie Brown; paternal grandmother, Sue Frazier; and several aunts and uncles.

Mike is survived by his mom, Peggy; brother, Gary Frazier; paternal grandfather, JR Frazier; and many more family and friends.

He had a natural gift for drawing, something he didn’t need to show off for people to notice. Give Mike a pencil and a little time, and he could bring just about anything to life on paper. It was simply part of who he was.

Music was another piece of his soul. Mike loved playing the guitar, whether he was sitting alone, lost in the moment, or sharing a tune with someone nearby. There was something comforting about hearing him play, something that made you slow down and just listen.

In his younger years, Mike enjoyed working on cars. He liked getting his hands dirty, figuring things out, and the satisfaction that came with fixing something that wasn’t quite right. It was never just about the car, it was about the process, the patience, and the pride in doing it himself.

A visitation will be held Friday, August 7 from 11AM to 1PM at BALES FUNERAL HOME, Camden. The funeral service will begin at 1PM with Pastor Gary Justice officiating. Mike will be laid to rest at Fairmound Cemetery, West Elkton.

Eric Steele

60, of Camden, passed away.

He was born May 19, 1966, in Hamilton, to the late Billy Joe Sr. and Norma Jean (Cole) Steele.

In addition to his parents, Eric was preceded in death by siblings, Billy Steele Jr., Cathy Strong, and Cindy Dillon.

He is survived by his siblings, JoAnna (Eugene) Cupp and Richie Steele; brother-in-law, Jimmy Strong; a niece whom he shared a special bond with, Tina Blanton; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Eric was the kind of man who felt most at peace with a fishing pole in his hand and the water in front of him. Whether it was out on the Ohio River or spending the day at Hueston Woods, that’s where you could find him, taking in the quiet, enjoying the moment, and doing what he loved most.

He had a well-known love for coffee with a cigar cigarette in the other hand and a good eye for “treasures.” Some might have called it junk, but to Eric, every piece had a story. He could spend hours tinkering, collecting, or just admiring the little things he found along the way.

More than anything, Eric loved deeply and fiercely. If you were one of his people, you knew it. He shared a special bond with his siblings, one built on a lifetime of memories, laughter, and sticking with each other through it all. That connection meant the world to him.

And then there was Bozo. His dog wasn’t just a pet, he was family. Even after Bozo passed, Eric carried that love with him, often thinking back on the good times they shared. That kind of loyalty and heart was just who Eric was.

He wasn’t complicated. He didn’t need much. Give him the outdoors, a cup of coffee, and the people he loved, and he was content. Eric had a way of reminding those around him to slow down, appreciate the simple things, and hold tight to the ones you love.

He’ll be missed in all the quiet places he once filled but never forgotten by those who knew him best.

Gloria K. Pieratt

Gloria K. Pieratt, 90, of Indianapolis, Indiana, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 29, 2026.

Born on April 14, 1936, Gloria was preceded in death by her parents James and Irma Werk, brother, Jim Werk and beloved husband and soulmate, Leonard D. Pieratt.

Gloria leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her sister, Lynn (John) Dane; her children, James (Vicki) Pieratt, Cheryl (Dan) Palombizio, Ronald (Kelly) Pieratt, and Deborah (Bob) Hobson; her grandchildren, Colby Pieratt, Daniel Palombizio, Kelsey Pieratt, Lauren (Evan) Wagner, Morgan (LeQuince) McCall, Whitney (Evan) Daniel, Alex Pieratt, Danielle (Jake) Masengale, Robby Hobson, Christopher (Kaila) Palombizio, and Connor Pieratt; and her great-grandchildren, Kaidence, Averey, Norah, Evann, Charli, William, Jett, and Francesca. She is also lovingly remembered by many extended family members and dear friends.

A faithful member of Tapestry Church in Indianapolis, Gloria’s unwavering faith in God guided her throughout her life and was a source of strength and comfort to those around her. She found great joy in cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and was a devoted fan of Indiana University basketball. Gloria will be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor, compassionate heart, and the genuine joy she brought to family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Tuesday, August 4, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Bales Funeral Home in Camden, OH. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Following the service, Gloria will be laid to rest at Fairmount Cemetery in Camden, where she will be reunited with her husband and love of her life, Leonard D. Pieratt.

Paul E. Jenkins

89, of West Elkton, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

He was born February 16, 1937, in Fayette, Alabama, to the late Curtis Esco and E.O. (Kennedy) Jenkins.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Annie Laura Jenkins and many siblings.

He is survived by his children, Teresa (David) Bishop, Paul Steven Jenkins, and Susan (Dan) Simpson; grandchildren, Dave (Kelli) Bishop, Curtis and Alisha Jenkins, and Jeremy, Brittney, and Kylie Simpson; great grandchildren, Jacob Bishop, Logan Duncan, and Logan and Chloe Jenkins; sisters, Trish Hepburn and Madge Glickman; and many more family and friends.

Paul was the kind of man who found his purpose in hard work, open fields, and the simple satisfaction of a job done right. For 47 years, he worked as a union bricklayer, laying more than just bricks, he built a life defined by dedication, grit, and pride in his craft. His hands told the story of a lifetime of labor, and to those who knew him, they were a symbol of everything he stood for.

When he wasn’t on a job site, Paul could be found tending to his farm and riding horses with his daughter, Teresa, where he felt most at home. The land wasn’t just work to him; it was a way of life. He appreciated the quiet rhythm of the seasons, the early mornings, and the honest effort it took to keep things going.

Paul had a passion for c**n hunting, a pastime that brought him both excitement and peace. Those nights spent in the woods were some of his favorites, often shared with friends and stories that would be told again and again. He also had a knack for buying and selling farm tractors, always keeping an eye out for a good deal, and just as often striking up a conversation that would last longer than the sale itself.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 28 from 11AM to 1PM at BALES FUNERAL HOME, Camden, with the funeral service beginning at 1PM. Paul will be laid to rest at Fairmound Cemetery in West Elkton beside his beloved wife, Annie.
