Teach your child that it’s okay to feel angry, frustrated, disappointed, or upset, but those feelings never give them permission to disrespect others. Emotions are valid, but hurtful words, bad attitudes, and disrespectful behavior still have consequences. Teach them how to express their feelings without hurting people, how to disagree without being rude, and how to walk away when emotions become overwhelming. Being upset is not an excuse to mistreat someone. Raising emotionally intelligent children means teaching them that respect matters even when they’re angry. They don’t have to like everyone, agree with everyone, or hide their feelings, but they must learn to communicate with kindness and respect. ❤️
