What a great evening at the Acadiana Veteran Alliance Boots, Brews, and Bros event! We were honored to spend the evening supporting an organization that does so much for veterans throughout our community. Even better, we had the opportunity to invite two of our veteran clients to join us. They hit it off so well that they left the event with something pretty special: a brand-new friendship.

Our owners, Charletta and Larry, were there to enjoy the evening, and this mission is especially meaningful to our A Place at Home family because Larry is a veteran himself. Lori, who is our Business Development Manager, and her husband, also a veteran, were proud to attend and share in such a memorable night as well.

From start to finish, Boots, Brews, and Bros was flawlessly executed. The atmosphere, hospitality, program, and celebration of those who have served made it an incredible evening.

At A Place at Home โ€“ Lafayette, supporting our community and our veterans is at the heart of what we do. We are grateful for opportunities like this to build relationships, celebrate service, and help create connections that continue long after the event is over.

Thank you, Acadiana Veteran Alliance, for an outstanding evening and for everything you do for veterans!

๐Ÿ‹ Meet the Team Monday

This week we're introducing you to Sierra, one of the newest members of the A Place at Home - Lafayette family.

Although Sierra was new to caregiving when she joined our team, she's already making a meaningful difference. One of the ways she cares for her client is by preparing a healthy breakfast each morning. Because of her attention to his nutrition and routine, his blood sugar levels have improved significantly. It's a great reminder that even the smallest acts of care can have a lasting impact.

When asked what she enjoys most about working at A Place at Home - Lafayette, Sierra shared:

"I appreciate how flexible and understanding A Place at Home is and how supportive and kind the team is. I also love being a caregiver because helping my client and making a positive difference in his life makes my job truly rewarding!"

We're grateful to have Sierra on our team and can't wait to see the lives she'll continue to touch.

If you or someone you love could benefit from compassionate care at home, give A Place at Home - Lafayette a call at (337) 366-7808.

๐Ÿ‹ Squeeze the Day Saturday #5

Have you ever noticed that the moments we remember most usually aren't the big, expensive, perfectly planned ones? They're sitting on the porch talking a little longer than you meant to. Laughing over an old story you've heard a hundred times. Taking the scenic route home.
Those are the moments that stick.

The sweetest moments often come from slowing down, showing compassion, and appreciating the little things. Working with seniors reminds us of that every day. They have a way of helping us slow down, enjoy the conversation, and appreciate the things that really matter. It's one of the many reasons we love what we do.

If someone you love could use a little extra support at home, we'd love to visit with you and talk about how we can help. Give us a call at (337) 366-7808.

We had such a good time at our Squeeze the Day Veterans Social at Parc Gardens. We enjoyed snacks, lemonade, a little friendly Lemon Trivia competition, and most importantly, some great conversation with the Veterans who joined us.

Along with the fun, we spent time talking about VA home care benefits and resources that may help eligible Veterans receive support at home. So many Veterans and their families simply don't know what's available to them, and we love having the opportunity to help get that information into their hands.

Of course, nobody left empty-handed! We had prizes, goodies, and plenty of lemon-themed treats to go around.

A big thank you to Parc Gardens for welcoming A Place at Home - Lafayette and allowing us to spend time with these gentlemen. It was a privilege getting to know them, hearing a few stories, sharing some laughs, and honoring their service. We are honored to serve those who served.

๐Ÿ‹ Sweet Stories Thursday

For Monty, having a caregiver means more than having someone around the house. It means having someone by his side while he continues to get out and do the things that are part of everyday life.

Whether itโ€™s running errands, going to appointments, or simply getting out for an outing, Monty enjoys and appreciates having his caregiver there with him. That companionship and extra helping hand can make such a difference in staying active, connected, and independent.

These are the moments we love to see because good care isnโ€™t about taking over someoneโ€™s life. Itโ€™s about helping them keep living it.

At A Place at Home - Lafayette, we believe every senior has a story worth celebrating. Sweet Stories Thursday highlights the special moments, talents, and acts of kindness that make our clients shine. If your loved one could use a helping hand while continuing to enjoy the things that bring them purpose and joy, weโ€™re here to help. Call us today at (337-366-7808) to learn more!

๐Ÿ‹ Lemon Tip Tuesday #5: Medication & Heat Safety

Heat can change how medications affect your body.

Some medications increase sensitivity to heat or dehydration. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about any extra precautions you should take during the summer.

Sweet Tip: Never leave medications in a hot vehicle.
