Birth trauma doesn’t just live in your memory. It lives in the body and in the nervous system.

And that changes everything about how it heals.

If you’ve tried talking about your birth and still feel stuck, it’s not you. Birth trauma often needs healing that is more than words.

EMDR is a therapy that actually moves the needle.

It helps your nervous system process what got stuck so you can stop reliving and start healing.

I specialize in EMDR for birth trauma, medical trauma, loss and infertility. I offer both weekly therapy and EMDR intensives for moms who are ready to go deeper with targeted work

I am accepting new clients in CA, TN, and FL.
Schedule a virtual intro call so we can talk about what birth story processing can mean for you.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to finally get support, this is it!

Hi, I’m Jen!

I’m a licensed therapist and mom of 3 specializing in perinatal and maternal mental health.

I work with moms navigating:
〰️Postpartum Anxiety & Depression
〰️Birth Trauma
〰️Infertility, Grief & Loss
〰️Motherhood & Identity Shifts
〰️Disability & Special Needs Parenting
〰️First Gen Motherhood & Cycle-Breaking

When talk therapy isn’t enough, mind-body approaches to therapy can help you heal from the experiences that still feel stuck, so you can feel peace, present, and like yourself again.

I’m currently accepting new clients in CA, TN & FL.

I also offer EMDR intensives for those ready for targeted, deeper work.

The first step is a free 15-minute video consultation.
You can schedule directly from my link in bio.

After a traumatic birth, what a mom often hears first isn’t compassion. It’s dismissal.

“At least you and the baby are healthy.”
“Lots of women go through this.”
“You’ll be fine.”

And just like that she learns to stay silent.

Birth trauma isn’t a bad day you get over. It can leave real, lasting imprints of fear, guilt, shame, grief.

And when someone rushes to find the silver lining, it tells her that her pain makes people uncomfortable.

More often than not, a new mom doesn’t need advice or a pep talk. She needs to know it’s okay to feel disappointed. It’s okay to grieve the birth she hoped for.

If you love a mom who’s been through this, try:

“I’m so sorry. You deserved to feel safe.”
“You don’t have to justify how hard that was.”
“I’m here. What do you need?”

Validation heals. “At least” language does not.

Follow for more honest conversations about birth trauma and maternal mental health. 🤍

Words matter. Especially in postpartum.

Even the most well-meaning comments can land as judgment, pressure, or invalidation to a mom who is already running on empty and doing her absolute best.

If you’re not sure what to say to a postpartum mom, just ask her how she’s really doing. And then actually listen.

Save this and share it with someone who loves a new mom.
