🔥 The votes are in!

During today’s first WBI Payday BBQ of the summer, we took a poll on one of life’s toughest questions:

Sand in your shoes? 🏖️
OR
Crumbs in your bed? 🛏️

The people have spoken...

The overwhelming winner: sand in your shoes.

Everyone who voted was entered into a prize drawing, and congratulations to Michelle O. for taking home this grilling set and gift card! 🎉

A huge thank you to our leadership team for serving up burgers, hot dogs, and lunch on the lawn while giving staff a chance to take a break, catch up with coworkers, and enjoy some Wyoming sunshine.

Not a bad way to spend a Friday afternoon. ☀️🍔

We’ll see everyone again at the next Payday BBQ!

Happy summer break! ☀️

For kids and teens, summer can be a great time to rest, recharge, and enjoy a different routine. But with more free time can also come boredom, isolation, more time online, and fewer built-in opportunities for connection.

Keeping young people engaged can help. Reading, hobbies, sports, camps, volunteering, classes, exercise, and time with others can all give kids something positive to look forward to and participate in.

As summer begins, it is also a good time to check in. If your child or teen seems more withdrawn, overwhelmed, anxious, irritable, or unlike themselves, support is available.

Wyoming Behavioral Institute offers inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services to help children, teens, and families get connected to the right level of care.

Real Wyoming stories can save lives and Shawn is sharing his so someone else knows they are not alone.

Shawn is a Marine Corps veteran, a Wyomingite, and a su***de attempt survivor featured in the WY We Care / WY We Talk Survivors Campaign: Real Wyoming Stories.

This statewide campaign shares the voices of Wyoming residents who have lived through suicidal crisis and are choosing to speak openly. To reduce stigma. To make hard conversations possible. To remind someone who is struggling that their story is not over.

The message is simple:

Keep Breathing.

One more breath can become one more minute.
One more minute can become one more conversation.
One conversation can help someone connect to support.

Wyoming Behavioral Institute is sharing Shawn’s story and this campaign because silence can make people feel alone — and no one should have to carry that kind of pain alone.

If you are in immediate crisis or need support now, call or text 988, or go to the nearest emergency room.

Wyoming Behavioral Institute offers confidential level-of-care assessments, available 24/7 by calling 800-457-9312.

Someone will listen. You are not alone.

May is Women’s Health Month — a good reminder that movement can support both physical and mental well-being. 🌞

Exercise does not have to look one specific way. It can be a 5K, a walk outside, a game of co****le, stretching at home, or simply stepping outside for a few minutes of fresh air.

Small, realistic movement can support mood, stress relief, connection, and a healthier routine.

To the women in our community: your health matters. Your mental health matters. And you are worth the time it takes to care for both. 💙

As summer break begins, routines can change quickly for kids and teens.

Changes in structure, sleep, social time, and daily support can affect how young people are doing. For families and caregivers, this is a good time to check in often, keep a basic routine, and pay attention to changes in mood, behavior, isolation, or safety.

Some young people may need more support during times of transition. Wyoming Behavioral Institute provides mental health services for youth and teens, including acute care and outpatient support. Our team is available 24/7 for level of care assessments and to help families and referral partners talk through next steps.
