GOOD EVENING FROM TPM!
What you see here is the confident CEO of the 1993 Gus Macker Championship Team…
DILL PICKLE MACKOWSKI’s.
I’m kidding about the CEO.
I only call myself the CEO because I came up with the name.
This was an intentionally flippant move on my part.
We have to have confidence to move through the world.
If we’ve created ourselves a certain way by putting in the work, this confidence is far easier to come by.
When it came to basketball, I put in the work.
My three teammates were all great dudes.
Jeremy Wightman was the post feeder who could hit a three here and there.
Wightman could play defense and disrupt somebody, and was also a good athlete who could anticipate well.
Kevin Kelly was the sense of humor who could hit a bucket when we needed it and he knew his role.
Essentially, get out of the way so the one and only Ryan Schultz could operate.
Schultz was a top dog finisher who could find me anywhere for a bucket.
We played joyfully and connected during that three on three tournament in the scorching heat of early August, 1993.
My vision of seeing ‘DILL PICKLE MACKOWSKI’s’ on the championship board as people looked on in dismay had come true.
I remember entering the dunk contest that year.
The flooring was really bouncy, but the ball I had was very inflated.
I missed my signature, toss the ball off the floor and throw it down dunk.
The crowd booed.
I fingered the crowd.
Well, come on, that’s bad crowdsmanship.
My apologies.
DILL PICKLE MACKOWSKI can’t take anything too seriously!
Remember, the memories are the most precious things we make in this life.
GO WIN!!!
