GOOD MORNING FROM TPM!
Mr Einertson!
He was a damn legend in my mind!
He was a long time math teacher and coach at Peet Jr High.
IYKYK…
I’ll always thank the math God’s for not blessing me so I could be in Mr E’s general math class in 8th grade.
Mr E was also my 7th grade football coach.
He allowed me to be in the backfield with Schultz that year so I am grateful.
I always remember he wore a flashy watch, dressed sharp, and seemed to have a year round southern Florida tan.
I appreciate Mr E for introducing me to high jump.
I remember he had Jeff Howard walk over to the track from Smitty’s Tire and Appliance, where he worked, to coach me at the pit.
Jeff would walk over with grease all over his face and his hands and coach the hell out of me.
He was a great coach! 
Jeff Howard held the Peet Jr high 8th grade high jump record at 5’10 and I was inspired to get the record.
I got 5’8 a handful of times that year in meets and shoelaced one at 5’10 that I thought I cleared.
I remember Mr E bringing in an old projector to our general math class.
During class, we watched an instructional high jump video.
I’m not sure what everybody else was doing.
He’d allow his students to pick music to play while we worked.
Mr E was my favorite teacher alongside Jack Schultz.
Mr E hooked me up with a whack from his famous paddle.
It definitely took my breath away.
For context:
Mr E had a board he used to allow students to volunteer and get whacked in the buns by.
Yes, this is real…
AND
No, it wasn’t abusive.
It was a badge of honor to me and his students.
What was the objective?
It was fun.
You got to sign your name on it after you got whacked.
I saw Mr E many times during and after college rollerblading on the bike trails in the valley.
Always fit and always smiling.
He is a remarkable guy who I am really thankful for having in my life.
I hope you are doing amazing Mr E!
