Most healthy cats don't need routine ear cleaning. In fact, cleaning your cat's ears too often can cause irritation. Instead, check them periodically for redness, swelling, a bad odor, excessive wax, or discharge.

If you notice any of these signs or your cat is scratching at their ears or shaking their head frequently, it's time for a veterinary visit.

Pumpkin-flavored treats are everywhere this time of year, but some seasonal ingredients aren't safe for pets.

Nutmeg contains myristicin, which can be toxic when ingested in larger amounts and may cause disorientation, increased heart rate, tremors, or even seizures.

While it's funny when they give you those irresistible puppy eyes, remember that many common sandwich ingredients, including onions, garlic, grapes, and xylitol-containing products, can be dangerous for dogs.
