BIG NEWS!
Over the years, working with kids, teens, and adults has taught me so much. Since I became a therapist, parent sessions and family work have always been woven into what I do, but I kept noticing a pattern. Individual therapy can do wonders, but sometimes there are gaps left behind when we do not bring the rest of the family into the process.
I started asking the clients I was working with for more "parent sessions" or even "hey, why don't you just bring them to the session?" I realized how much the whole system matters for healing... SO... I have spent the last year and a half training in Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) and working toward my certification.
EFFT is really about getting underneath the surface of constant conflicts, understanding why people react or shut down, and building practical ways to repair connection so everyone feels heard instead of blamed.
If you or someone you know is feeling like there are missing pieces in your family’s healing journey, I am now officially offering EFFT family therapy in person here in Chapel Hill and online across North Carolina and South Carolina. I am neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed (hello EMDR), and passionate about creating a space where everyone feels heard.
