🚨🚨 Appreciation Post 🚨🚨

During our Team Huddle on Wednesday, we were honored to recognize our two MVPs for Quarter 3! Here's what their colleagues had to say about them...

"Bailey Short brings a positive attitude to work, does not complain, very eager to learn. She provides exceptional patient care and is very clinically adept. New, old, or otherwise she embodies what EMS should want from an EMT. Bailey is always going above and beyond for patients and ensures attention to detail. She also is always willing to help coworkers out by staying over past her shift when needed."

Dillon Cole: "He never stops. Whether that be running calls, extra responsibilities, looking for things that need done or ensure us for response readiness. Dillon is a top-notch provider, FTO, and team member. He is a very talented paramedic and has taught swathes of EMTs and Paramedics here. He is a role model to the people around him and is very deserving of any praise and nominations."

Congratulations to Bailey and Dillon on their well-deserved awards 👏👏👏

🚨🚨KCEAA has had a record week for blood administration in the field 🩸🩸

This week, KCEAA paramedics successfully completed TWO prehospital blood transfusions to patients in the field👏👏👏

On Tuesday, EMT Brad Tackett took a moment to recognize paramedics Nathan Finney and Heather Sergent for their responsiveness, teamwork and professionalism. Job well done!!!

Today, Captain David Dunlap told KCEAA that our crew did an outstanding job responding to an elderly patient with low blood pressure, an altered level of consciousness, a GI bleed, and very pale skin. He said that the patient's blood pressure, skin appearance immediately improved and was more alert following the blood transfusion, with zero side effects or negative reactions 🙏🙏🙏

KCEAA would like to give a huge shout out to -

Nathan Finney
Heather Sergent
Chase Clendenin
Ruth Craft
Jared Ferrell
Bryant Sheppard

During our Team Huddle, KCEAA’s 2026 EMT Academy won the Halloween costume contest. They collectively dressed up as one of their favorite instructors, Jonathan Evans 😆🎃👏🏻

Mystery reveal bonus pics: We also had a skeleton in the audience, and it turned out to be our very own Lindsay Burdett!

Happy ER Nurses Week! 💙💛

KCEAA was happy to deliver lunch to the incredible ER nurses at WVU Medicine Thomas Hospitals as a small token of appreciation for all they do.

We’re grateful for the hard work, dedication, and compassion these nurses show their patients every day. Thank you for all you do for our community and for the partnership we share in caring for those who need us most!

🚨This past weekend, our very own Angel Bee and Leland Wolfe represented KCEAA at The Home Depot's Fire Safety Day!🚑

Raising fire safety awareness and education is extremely important in preparing yourself and your loved ones in the event of a fire emergency. As first responders, KCEAA was honored to be invited to help provide education to our amazing community.
