Happy **Grandparents Day!** ❤️

I couldn’t think of a better day to introduce a new word into the grandparenting vocabulary:

**GRAMMAXXING.** 😂

You know how kids have their own language for everything these days? Well, I think grandparents deserve a word too.

Grammaxxing is about leveling up your grandparent game, whether that means showing up in person, showing up on FaceTime, creating traditions, carrying emergency snacks, watching the same video approximately 47 times, or simply finding new ways to stay connected.

Because being a grandparent isn’t about getting it perfect.

It’s about **showing up.**

Today’s **Sunday with Grammy** takes a playful look at what it means to Grammaxx.

And honestly… I think we may have just started something….

Because we’re not babysitting. We’re grandparenting.

🗺️ Sunday with Grammy❤️

There’s something pretty wonderful about seeing the world through a child’s imagination.

A simple treat for Daddy became a full-blown **treasure hunt**, complete with a hand-drawn map, a mission, and one very excited little boy ready to take charge.

It’s these small moments of creativity, connection, and play that become the memories we carry with us.

And this week, Daddy had to work for his treasure. 😉🏴‍☠️

The first day of school comes with a surprising amount of preparation.

Backpacks labeled. Lunch packed. Snacks packed. Rules reviewed. Pictures taken.

And then, about 30 minutes after drop-off, the phone rings.

Let’s just say the first day did not go quite as planned. 😂

In my newest Remote Control Grammy post, I share the story of a very short first day of Pre K, a very understanding family, and one stuffed bear who apparently takes his support-staff duties very seriously. 🧸

But underneath the humor is something bigger.

Those first little steps toward independence are also the beginning of a lifetime of letting go.

And sometimes, we grandparents are learning right alongside them.

🥔 **Sunday with Grammy: Farmers Market Outing**

Sometimes the simplest outings become the memories we hold onto.

Our first adventure together was a morning at the farmers market, filled with fresh produce, live music, flowers for Mommy, a special treat for Daddy, and one very determined little boy waiting for his potato on a stick.

And then there was the cherry tomato situation. 😂

He thinks they’re fascinating because they’re called *cherry tomatoes.*

He doesn’t eat cherries.

He doesn’t eat cherry tomatoes.

Kids have their own perfectly logical universe.

**Sundays with Grammy is back!** ❤️

This week, Grammy finally makes the journey from long-distance grandmother to very-much-in-the-room grandmother.

*Grammy Arrives at Midnight* is about travel, anticipation, a sleeping grandson, and that extraordinary feeling of finally being where you’ve been wishing you could be.

And yes… Paddington has a role to play. 🧸
