Discover the art and benefits of herbal bitters in this hands-on herbal medicine class. Bitters have been used for centuries to support healthy digestion, nourish the liver, stimulate digestive function, and reconnect us with the often-missing bitter flavor in modern diets.

In this workshop, we’ll explore the foundations of bitter herbalism, discuss a variety of traditional bitter herbs, and learn how to formulate balanced and effective bitters blends for everyday use. Participants will create and take home their own handcrafted herbal bitters preparation while gaining practical skills in herbal extraction and formulation.

Perfect for beginners and experienced herbal enthusiasts alike, this class blends herbal wisdom, sensory exploration, and practical remedy making.

Please bring a pint jar to class.

Yesterday we had a great time sharing with kids why it’s a good thing to garden at the Chehalis Farmers Market! We took a vote of their favorite reasons to garden. Smart kids: eating the good food took top slot, with strawberries being mentioned most often🍓The second most common answer was planting seeds and/or plants.

We love seeing kids excited about healthy food and digging in the dirt! After all, food is medicine and gardening is community building💚

🌈 Happy Pride, y'all!

Excited to share that our seasonal Pride Tea is back!

This blend features nettles, tulsi, calendula, roses, licorice root, and butterfly pea flower. Brewed on its own, it creates a beautiful turquoise tea. Add a squeeze of lemon and watch it turn pink.

Another garden planted! On Saturday, we filled the beds at the Boistfort School garden with herbs, cucumbers and onions, as requested by Ms Julia for school lunches. And cherry tomatoes and green beans as requested by the students. They also requested peas and carrots, which had already been planted. Plus flowers in barrels, though we still need to fill the hanging baskets.

Thank you, volunteers! Can’t wait to watch this garden grow!

Yesterday we filled up the garden at the Timber River Connections senior center in Winlock. Once the produce starts rolling in, it will be used in lunches and given to the folks who come to the center.🍅🫛🥒🌶️🫑🥬🥕

Thanks so much to Heidi of Boistfort Valley Farm for the beautiful plants she donated, Burke and Laura of Olequa Farm for the starts and the cat protection😹, Kellogg Garden for the soil, and Renee's Garden for the seeds!

🌸We could still use some flowers for pots to put at the entrance if anyone has some to share 🌼
