🍽️ An Inspiring Afternoon Supporting Our Community!

Members of the Lucy Corr team had a wonderful time attending The Span Center’s Annual Empty Plate Luncheon today!

This special event brought together community leaders, advocates, and supporters to celebrate the importance of ensuring older adults, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.

This year’s luncheon featured keynote speaker Dr. B. Cameron Webb, Virginia State Health Commissioner, who addressed the important health impacts of social isolation and the value of staying connected.

At Lucy Corr, we share The Span Center’s commitment to helping older adults live with dignity, independence, and meaningful connections. We are grateful for the opportunity to come together with others who share that mission!

On behalf of the Lucy Corr Foundation, thank you to everyone who joined us for our 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run this morning! Whether you ran, walked, volunteered, sponsored, or cheered from the sidelines, you helped make this event a tremendous success.

Congratulations to all of the 2026 Chesterfield County Senior Volunteer Hall of Fame nominees, who collectively have contributed more than 137,000 hours of volunteer service to our community.

We are especially proud to celebrate John Hilliard, Jr., a member of the Health Center Commission for the County of Chesterfield, who was selected as one of this year’s Hall of Fame inductees.

Congratulations also to fellow inductees David Lipp, volunteer and member of Chesterfield County’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and Edith Lumpkin, retired nurse and volunteer with the Chesterfield County Police Department.

We extend our appreciation to all 12 nominees for their dedication, service, and commitment to making Chesterfield County a better place. Thank you for the countless ways you give back to our community.
