For the record: you can get pregnant on about six days of your cycle.

That's the five days before ovulation, because s***m can survive that long, plus the day of ovulation. The egg itself only lasts about a day.

Even inside that window, a healthy couple in their 20s has roughly a 20–25% chance of conceiving each cycle.

Health class taught it the other way because it was built to prevent pregnancy, not explain it. That's fine at 15.

It's less fine when it's still everything you know at 35 and trying.
