One thing I have learned as technology and artificial intelligence continue to evolve is that AI is becoming integrated into nearly every career sector. From tools like Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini to AI assisted documentation, data analysis, and workflow automation, understanding how these technologies function is becoming an essential skill.
As a social worker, I have always valued the importance of identifying risks, advocating for ethical practices, and creating systems that better support the individuals and communities we serve. Whether working with students, clients, healthcare systems, organizations, or interdisciplinary teams, social workers are often at the intersection of people, policies, and evolving systems.
As AI becomes more present within education, behavioral health, healthcare, hospitals, and workplace environments, it is critical that we not only understand the opportunities it creates but also the potential risks related to ethics, privacy, bias, accessibility, and human impact.
I am continuing to expand my knowledge by pursuing AI certifications and building my understanding of how AI can be leveraged responsibly. My goal is to bridge the gap between technology and human centered practice by combining my background in social work, trauma-informed care, program development, and systems thinking with emerging AI capabilities.
The future of AI will require professionals who can understand both the technology and the people impacted by it. I am excited to continue learning, growing, and exploring how AI can be implemented in ways that are ethical, equitable, and supportive of the communities we serve. Excited for what's to come!
