Chicago Family Health Center Chicago Family Health Center (CFHC) offers affordable comprehensive primary, dental and behavioral health services, as well as support programs.

We have six health center locations in South Chicago, Pullman, Roseland, Chicago Lawn and East Side. CFHC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that operates a network of six health center sites in South Chicago, Pullman, East Side, Roseland and Chicago Lawn, as well as a school-based health center at Chicago Vocational Career Academy. CFHC offers high quality, primary health including pediatrics, OB/GYN, and internal medicine. We also offer dental care, behavioral health and support services for the whole family. We accept Medicaid and private insurance and offer a sliding scale discount program based on income to those who are uninsured. Our Mission:
CFHC will promote health through the delivery of quality, accessible primary healthcare that is culturally sensitive, affordable, and responsive to community and individual needs.

We’re excited to welcome Johnathan, Nneka and Mehreen to the Chicago Family Health Center (CFHC) team!

The Amate Fellowship is a year-long service and leadership program for young adults passionate about social justice and community service. Through June 2027, our three Fellows will bring their unique backgrounds, talents and interests to different areas of CFHC’s work.

We’re glad to have them on our team and look forward to seeing the impact they’ll make in our clinics and communities! 💜

💙 October 8 is Depression Screening Day.

Sometimes, checking in with yourself is a good place to start. How have you been feeling lately? How have things been affecting your sleep, energy, mood, or everyday life?

The PHQ-9 is a quick, nine-question questionnaire that helps healthcare providers understand symptoms of depression and how they may be affecting you. It asks about how you’ve been feeling and functioning over the past two weeks.

A screening isn’t a diagnosis, but it can be a helpful first step toward having an honest conversation about your mental health and getting support if you need it.

💙 Prevention starts with understanding that substance use can affect anyone.

In 2024, nearly 80,000 people died from drug overdoses in the U.S. While overdose deaths have declined, every life lost matters.

Domestic violence can affect more than physical health. It can also have lasting effects on mental and emotional well-being.

According to the CDC, more than 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men in the U.S. have experienced physical or sexual violence or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we’re reminding our community that support is available. 💜

At Chicago Family Health Center, our Behavioral Health team provides confidential, professional support for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, and family and domestic concerns. Services include individual, family, and couples counseling, as well as safety planning and crisis stabilization.

🎀 This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, make your breast health a priority.

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in the U.S., and about 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime.

For Black women, the breast cancer death rate is about 40% higher, making early detection especially important. Screening can help find breast cancer before symptoms appear, when treatment is often more successful.

At Chicago Family Health Center, we provide breast cancer screening and clinical breast exams, including mammograms and other screening services.

Through the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP), eligible uninsured and underinsured Illinois residents can access FREE mammograms and breast exams.

🎉 Health Fiesta at South Chicago! 💜

The Women’s Health Programs and IBCCP teams recently kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month with a free community Health Fiesta focused on Women’s Wellness!

From a heart-pumping Zumba class with Soul in Motion Studio to conversations about breast and cervical health, diabetes, hypertension, nutrition and more, women had the opportunity to learn, ask questions and connect with valuable health resources.

Attendees also enjoyed snacks, giveaways and raffle prizes! 🎁

We’re proud to bring health education, preventive care and community resources directly to the women and families we serve. 💜
