Exciting structural improvements happening at Victory Tree Garden. A new community gathering space is being installed at the back of the garden. The very uneven ground was expertly leveled for a covered patio. The front garden bed was also extended for beautification and to prevent erosion and flooding. Plants enjoying water runoff and afternoon sun include limelight hydrangea, aster and coneflower.

We had a busy day at the gardens, yesterday. The Community Exchange Garden soil was tested by a student at DePaul and the Wildlife Project at Lincoln Park Zoo conducted a pollinator count at both gardens. Monarch butterflies 🦋 are now enjoying the new milkweed at Victory Tree Garden.
