💛 Happy Labor Day from The Branch Collective!

Today, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the people behind the work. From our dedicated therapists and clinicians to our staff, team members, and everyone who has poured into The Branch Collective over the years… thank you. 🌿

As we look back at this special moment from the open house at our 111th Street location, we’re reminded of just how much growth, care, and commitment it has taken to get here.

From our home at 📍1987 W. 111th Street to our South Loop location, every chapter of The Branch Collective has been made possible by people who believe in the importance of creating safe, supportive spaces for healing and wellness.

This Labor Day, we honor the hands, hearts, and minds that continue to make this work possible and we celebrate how far we’ve come together. 💛

Here’s to continued growth, continued healing, and continued impact in the communities we serve.

📚✨ Yesterday was National Read a Book Day, but we think a good book is worth celebrating any day!

Books can give us new perspectives, help us better understand ourselves and others, and even become meaningful tools along our mental health and wellness journeys. 💛

So, we asked a few of our clinicians at The Branch Collective to share what they’re reading and the books they recommend to clients.

Whether you’re looking for your next read, a little inspiration, or a resource to support your personal growth, our clinicians have you covered. 📖🌿

We’re kicking off September by turning up the volume on wellness! 🎵

Music has an incredible way of reaching us when words sometimes can’t. It can help us process emotions, reduce stress, spark memories, create connection, and give us a safe space to simply feel.

Our therapist Lauren Griffin shares the power of music therapy, and even sings a little something for us! 🎤✨ Her message is a reminder that music can be more than entertainment. It can be a tool for healing, expression, comfort, and connection.

Whether you’re singing at the top of your lungs, creating a playlist for your mood, dancing around the house, or sitting quietly with a song that speaks to you, music can be part of your wellness toolkit. 💚

🎧 What’s one song that always makes you feel better? Drop it in the comments so we can build a community wellness playlist!

This month The Branch Collective visited Martha’s Vineyard! ✨

From connecting with friends along the way to meaningful conversations within the community, this trip was about more than enjoying a beautiful destination—it was about continuing to advocate for mental health and wellness wherever we go.

Mental health conversations belong everywhere: in our homes, our communities, our workplaces, and even while we're traveling. 🌿

We’re grateful for every opportunity to connect, build community, and remind others that prioritizing mental wellness matters.

Here’s to good people, great memories, and continuing to spread the message of mental health and healing wherever the journey takes us! 💚🌊

🎒💚 Back to school means back to routines, new experiences, and big emotions!

As students head into a new school year, remember that adjusting isn't always easy. Excitement, anxiety, pressure, and uncertainty can all show up at the same time.

Parents and caregivers can help by creating consistent routines, making space for honest conversations, watching for signs of stress, and reminding children that their worth is about so much more than grades. 🌿

👉🏾 Swipe through for a few Back-to-School Mental Health Tips to help your family start the school year feeling supported and prepared.

And remember: It's okay to ask for help. 💚

"You shouldn't feel that way.""But…I do feel that way."

As Jasmika Cook, CSO shares, empathy requires us to approach our partner with curiosity and compassion even when their feelings make us uncomfortable.

Sometimes we want the person we love to hurry up and "feel better" because we don't know what to do with their emotions. But creating emotional safety means giving your partner room to feel without dismissing, fixing, or rushing them.

As we head into the weekend, consider this: Can your partner bring the hard stuff to you and still feel safe, heard, and accepted? 💚
These are the conversations we'll continue exploring during our Finding Our Way Back to Us Couples Retreat.

"We need help with communication."
It's one of the most common things couples say when they come to therapy.

But as Jasmika Cook, CSO explains, the challenge often isn't communication—it's emotional safety.
When we don't feel safe being vulnerable, even simple conversations can become difficult. We may hold back our feelings, anticipate negative responses, or struggle to truly connect.

Take a moment to reflect:
Does your relationship feel emotionally safe—for both of you?
Creating emotional safety isn't one-size-fits-all, but it's one of the most important foundations of a healthy relationship.

💚 During our Finding Our Way Back to Us Couples Retreat, David Wilson, LCSW and Jasmika Cook, CSO will help couples explore what emotional safety looks like and how to cultivate it in their unique relationship.

One of the greatest gifts you can give your partner isn't advice—it's your full attention.

As Jasmika Cook, CSO shares, many of us listen to respond instead of listening to understand. Yet, one of our deepest human needs is to feel truly heard.

Empathy isn't just feeling for someone—it's choosing to understand their experience, being present with them, and creating the emotional safety they need to be vulnerable.

✨ This week, challenge yourself to pause before responding. Listen with curiosity. Listen with compassion. Listen to understand.
Sometimes, the strongest relationships aren't built by saying the right thing—they're built by making the other person feel heard. 💚

"I lost my job."
"I don't know how we're going to pay the bills this month."

These conversations aren't always easy to have. For many people, fear, pride, and expectations around gender roles can make vulnerability feel even more difficult.

This Wellness Wednesday, remember that emotional wellness isn't just about taking care of yourself—it's also about creating a relationship where both partners feel safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and supported.
In today's conversation, David Wilson, LCSW and Jasmika Cook, CSO discuss the importance of creating emotional safety and how these conversations can strengthen your relationship.
💚 These are just some of the meaningful topics we'll explore during our Finding Our Way Back to Us Couples Retreat.
