It sounds counter-intuitive, but eyes that constantly water are often crying out for help because they are actually too dry. When the oil-producing glands in your lids are blocked, your eyes produce a "survival water" that evaporates too quickly, leaving you in a cycle of irritation and blur. Atien Aslani and Dr. Barr specialize in analyzing this tear film to restore the high-quality moisture your eyes need for all-day comfort. Soluciones avanzadas para el ojo seco.

Being told you are a "glaucoma suspect" is often more about your eye's unique architecture than an active disease. For many, it simply means your optic nerve has a slightly larger structural blueprint—similar to having a unique fingerprint—that requires consistent, detailed structural tracking. We prioritize monitoring these unique features to ensure your vision remains medically secure for the long term. Cuidando su salud visual a largo plazo en Escondido y Temecula.

If your vision feels like it's becoming cloudy again months or years after cataract surgery, you aren't imagining a new cataract growing back. This common occurrence is often just a thin layer of cellular haze forming behind your lens implant, acting like a frosted window. A quick, non-invasive clinical treatment can clear this film away and restore the high-definition brilliance you experienced right after your procedure. The weight of your eyelids shouldn't be a daily workout for your forehead muscles. When the muscles responsible for lifting the lid weaken over time, it often leads to a constant look of fatigue and can even begin to obstruct your upper field of vision. This is a common clinical condition where restorative care can help you see the world more clearly and comfortably. Mantenga su mirada fresca y saludable en nuestra clínica de Temecula. 📝 A pterygium is a growth of tissue that extends from the white of the eye onto the cornea. It’s commonly associated with long-term exposure to UV light, wind, dust, and dry environments, which is why it’s often called “surfer’s eye.”

While some pterygiums remain small, others can continue to grow, causing chronic redness, irritation, a foreign body sensation, and even blurred vision. When it threatens vision or causes persistent symptoms, surgical removal may be recommended.

This case highlights the healing process following pterygium removal performed by Dr. Ayham Skaf: from before surgery to two months after, showing the eye’s gradual return to a healthier, clearer appearance.

👁️ Protect your eyes by wearing UV-blocking sunglasses and scheduling regular eye exams if you notice persistent redness or a growth on your eye.

UV damage to the eyes is cumulative, meaning the sun exposure you get today builds upon every summer of your life. While most people remember to protect their skin, the delicate internal structures of the eye can undergo permanent changes from unfiltered light exposure. High-quality UV protection is not just a style choice; it is a long-term investment in preserving the clarity of your vision for decades to come. Proteja su vista de los rayos UV este verano con expertos de confianza.

The eyes are the only place on the human body where a doctor can view live blood vessels and nerve tissue without making a single incision. This high-definition view allows us to spot microscopic changes in systemic health, often years before physical symptoms appear in other parts of the body. Monitoring the internal structural blueprint of your retina is a vital screening for your overall physical wellness. Su salud visual es una ventana a su bienestar general.

Some people build practices. Dr. Nasrin Mani built a legacy of hope.

When Dr. Mani founded American Eye Associates in 1988, her vision extended far beyond treating eye disease. She believed that everyone deserves the gift of sight, regardless of their circumstances, and she has spent her life turning that belief into action.

As a board-certified retina specialist, Dr. Mani has restored vision for countless patients, but some of her most meaningful work has happened beyond the walls of the clinic. Through her dedication to the Los Angelitos Foundation, she has helped bring compassionate eye care to underserved children in Tijuana, ensuring that those with the fewest resources still have access to the care they deserve.

For Dr. Mani, medicine has always been about more than procedures and diagnoses. It’s about dignity. It’s about giving a child the chance to see the world clearly, a grandparent the chance to recognize a loved one’s face, and a family the hope that comes with restored vision.

Her unwavering commitment to service has earned her recognition as a San Diego Top Doctor year after year, but the lives she’s touched tell an even greater story.

At American Eye Associates, we’re honored to continue the mission she began more than 35 years ago: providing exceptional eye care with compassion, integrity, and a heart for every patient.

Thank you, Dr. Mani, for reminding us that the greatest impact isn’t measured by awards, it’s measured by the lives you change. 💙

Happy Birthday, Dr. Mani 🎉

Part 3: The Final Steps Before LASIK 👁️✨

This is where everything starts coming together.

Before Isa’s procedure begins, Dr. Koo performs a final refraction to confirm the prescription and ensure every detail is accurate. From there, Dr. Eslani carefully prepares and cleans the eye, while our surgical team gets everything ready inside the LASIK suite.

Every step, every measurement, and every safety check is done with precision and purpose.

What many patients don’t see is the teamwork behind the procedure. From the nurses assisting in the room to the surgeons preparing for treatment, LASIK is a coordinated process designed to deliver the best possible outcome.

Isa has spent years helping patients through this same journey. Today, she’s experiencing it for herself.

Next up: it’s time for the procedure. 👀
