Overweight adults can half their odds of becoming obese by reaching 11,000 steps per day

Increases in step counts has been shown to result in decreases in
-Diabetes
-Sleep apnea
-Depression
-High blood pressure
-Acid reflux

Walking for at least 21 minutes a day can decrease chance of dying by a third!

Current recommendations are 150 minutes of moderate intense activity PLUS two days of strength training per week.

Four square breathing (also known as same vritti pranayama) is a simple, effective option for in the moment stress.

Benefits include
-lowering the stress hormone cortisol
-helping to lower blood pressure
-activate parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest)
-calms the mind

How to do four square breathing
1. Breathe out slowly
2. Breathe in through nose for count of four, filling lungs and stomach
3. Hold breath for counseling of four
4. exhale for count of four
5. Hold breath out for count of four
6. repeat for three to four rounds
