Our Halloween Costume Party and Spooky Sing-Along with Annie Takeuchi was filled with fantastic costumes, festive music, great snacks and candy and plenty of Halloween fun! The competition amongst the residents was STIFF as we had witches, a cat, the Bride of Frankenstein, a princess, a bunny, and, of course, our famous Duct Tape Man! 😂

But taking home the top prize was our very own resident Dolly, Norma Jean! 🌟 She sure gave everyone a run for their money!

We even took a few moments out to see staff members in their costume contest1

95 years old, nearly 500 songs, and a lifetime of love for music. 🎹💛

Meet Lou Newman, a resident at StoryPoint Carmel whose piano playing brings a little extra joy to her neighbors every day!

Whether she's welcoming visitors with a familiar tune, accompanying the resident choir, or playing a song that takes someone back to a special moment, Lou knows just how powerful music can be.

“People stop by the piano every day, they say, ‘I was so down this morning, but when I heard your music, it made me happy.’ So, how can you not play?”

We love seeing Lou's incredible story and passion for music in the spotlight! Read more about her lifelong love of music below. 💛

Louise Newman never gets tired of playing the piano. The 95-year-old, who everyone calls Lou, plays daily where she lives at StoryPoint Carmel, formerly Woodland Terrace of Carmel. There is a piano in the main area. “We have a piano or keyboard in every major room in this facility,” said Newma
