🌟 June Caregiver of the Month: Desaray 🌟

Desaray consistently goes above and beyond, always showing up with a positive attitude and a professional appearance.

Her passion for caregiving comes from a deeply personal place. Having never known her grandparents, Desaray says she treats each of her clients as if they were the grandparents she never had. To her, clients are more than just clients, they're family.

Recently, when one of her clients experienced a fall, Desaray immediately volunteered to accompany her to the hospital so she wouldn't have to be alone. She stayed well beyond her scheduled shift until her client's daughter was able to arrive.

Desaray's dedication is fueled by the love and support of her family, especially her children, who remind her every day that giving up is never an option.

Thank you, Desaray, for the compassion, loyalty, and peace of mind you bring to the families you serve every day. 💙

Care Tip Tuesday 📖

As always, every tip comes straight from our care team, sharing the best advice they've learned from years of hands-on experience.

Today's Topic: Promoting Independence 👕

This week's care tip from our care team:

"Small changes like switching buttoned shirts to pullovers can help someone stay independent longer."

As we age, arthritis, weakness, or limited dexterity can make everyday tasks more challenging. Simple adaptations to clothing and daily routines can reduce frustration, build confidence, and help your loved one continue doing things for themselves.

Sometimes, maintaining independence isn't about making big changes, it's about making the right small ones. 💙

Please help us welcome Julie to the Assisting Hands team! 💙

Julie joins us as our new recruiter and brings 18 years of healthcare experience to the team. She started her healthcare journey as a dietary aide at a nursing home near her home and quickly discovered a passion for helping others after taking a health services class in high school.

Julie is an STNA and has also worked as a Wellness Coordinator in independent living, supporting both staff and residents with scheduling and daily operations. What she loves most about senior care is seeing how happy clients are when you are there for them.

Outside of work, Julie enjoys spending time with her dog, crafting, scrapbooking, and baking.

We’re excited to have Julie on our team! 🎉

Care Tip Tuesday 📖

As always, every tip comes straight from our care team, sharing the best advice they've learned from years of hands-on experience.

Today's Topic: Building Your Care Team 🤝

"Building a care team does not have to start during a crisis. Planning support early allows families to make thoughtful decisions instead of reacting under stress."

Caregiving becomes much more manageable when support is built before it feels overwhelming. Planning ahead gives families more time, more options, and more peace of mind. 💙
