We had a very happy Mother's Day!
Mother: "The meaning of unconditional love, a heartful of strength, kindness, sacrifice, and endless care that shapes a family and comforts a soul."
We celebrated our moms with chicken-finger sandwiches, fresh strawberries, blueberries, grapes, pretzel cheese cubes, and a fun, tasty punch.
We shared mom memories, stories, and read some funny mom quotes!
We ended our celebration with our door prize drawings, and everyone won!

Group CVAL Talent Standing left to right:
Polly~ Drummer in her husband's band. She shares and carries wonderful memories of her time in the band, even though she no longer plays. We love hearing her stories!
Scott ~ Known as the " Glass Man" in Maine for 31 years!. He knows his antiques and is very well known in his hometown. He was the antique celebrity of his time!
Margaret~ Seamstress, did her amazing work out of her home. Very well known & stayed very busy through the years. Word of mouth is a wonderful advertisement!

Sitting left to right:
Bill~ Raced dirt bikes for 20 years in upstate New York. He has won many, many trophies. His son and grandsons carry on his love and talents, racing dirt bikes, and Bill shares videos of their competitions with us often.
Bert~ Cook Extraordinaire, who will be 99 in June! She has recipes in her head from generations of the past! Nothing tastes as good as Grandma's cooking, whether at events at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, holidays, family, or friends. Bert's cooking has touched the community over the years.
Shirley~ Quilting. She spent hours making beautiful quilts for family and friends that are sure to be passed down from generation to generation.
Cindie~ Electronics experience and coloring are her talents. She is always coloring beautiful pictures and giving them out, and helping out some with their phones!

Our "spotlight" talent is on two of our residents, Roger Bischoff and Pamela McLeod.
Roger started making handmade wooden heavy equipment models at the age of 70. It takes him approximately 3 months to finish a project. Each model has movable, working parts. They are so wonderfully detailed and beautifully made. Pictures do not do them justice. He is definitely very talented and gifted.
Pamela has been blind and deaf since a very young age, but that does not stop her from crocheting and making beautiful afghans. Pamela amazes us with all the many things she does with her disabilities. She is incredible and such an inspiration!
