Hey all, I haven’t been on here for a while, so giving you a little update

Life has been extra busy lately

End of school year, my youngest finished his first year of middle school, my oldest graduated from middle school and moving on to high school

I am not one of those moms who wants her kids to stay little forever and actually love every moment of watching them grow up

Since closing the center, I’ve been spending most of my time planning WNY Fungi Fest - if you aren’t following that page yet, what are you waiting for?
It’s a ton of work, but I’m building so many relationships and connections with so many different people and I absolutely love that, totally my jam

We are also setting up Sweaty Mushroom - a mobile sauna and cold plunge gig, so give that account a follow too

And in the midst of it all, I also got a pretty perfect part time job at an acupuncture clinic

I am still keeping my schedule open for coaching sessions, but my availability will be reduced once I start my job on 7/6

Some things are still at a standstill, but there is probably a reason for that beyond my understanding

I am still very much trusting God’s will and timing on all the things and feeling extremely blessed for all His provisions while I navigate the unknowns šŸ™šŸ¼

One of the best parts about my faith journey has been learning how to detach from a particular outcome in any situation.

I had a job interview recently, and in the past I’d walk into something like that with a million thoughts running through my head. What if I don’t get it? What if I say the wrong thing?

But this time was different.

Before I even walked in, I had already surrendered the outcome. I knew that if the job was meant for me, it would be mine. And if it wasn’t, then God had something else planned.

Because of that, I had zero anxiety.

And I also walked into that interview believing the job was already mine.

Not because I was trying to manifest it or convince myself of something, but because I trusted that what God has for me cannot be taken from me.

There’s a big difference between faith and attachment.

Attachment says, ā€œI need this to work out.ā€

Faith says, ā€œI’m going to show up fully, believe for the best, and trust God with the outcome.ā€

Sometimes the miracle isn’t getting what you wanted.

Sometimes it’s becoming the kind of person who can walk into the unknown with complete peace.

P.S. I was asked to come in for a shadow interview the following week and was offered the position on the spot.
I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity, feeling so incredibly blessed as I continue to navigate all the unknowns.

One of the things I’m learning is that just because my mind comes up with a worst-case scenario doesn’t mean it’s telling me the truth.

For so many years, I lived in anticipation of what could go wrong.

I would mentally play out every possible outcome, believing that if I could prepare for the worst, somehow I’d be protected from it.

But all it really did was rob me of my peace and what I’ve come to realize is that fear loves to fill in the blanks.

When we don’t know what’s coming next, our minds often create stories to make sense of the uncertainty. And more often than not, those stories are rooted in fear, not truth.

I know that’s been especially true in my own life over this past year.

There have been so many unknowns, so many unanswered questions, and so many opportunities for my mind to spiral into ā€œwhat if.ā€

What if this doesn’t work out?
What if things get worse?
What if I’m not going to be okay?

But faith has been teaching me to ask a different question.

What if God is already there?

What if He’s already working in ways I can’t see?

What if the story He’s writing is far better than the one my fear keeps trying to convince me is coming?

I’m still practicing this every day.

Not because I never have fearful thoughts, but because I’ve learned that I don’t have to follow every thought my mind offers me.

Sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is choose to trust God more than our own worst-case scenarios.

šŸ¤ If you’ve been carrying a lot of ā€œwhat ifsā€ lately, I hope this reminds you that they don’t have to be the loudest voice in the room.

For years, I thought of myself and referred to myself as a ā€œhealer.ā€ But I don’t do that anymore.

I was listening to the sermon at church today, and something the pastor said really struck me.

When we don’t have a relationship with God, we’re essentially like sheep without a shepherd.

As I sat with that, I realized something.

For a long time, I think I saw myself as the shepherd. Not consciously, but in the role I believed I was playing.

What I’m realizing now is that my mission isn’t to be the shepherd at all. And it certainly isn’t to be the healer.

The only One who has the power to truly heal is God.

My role is simply to share my story. To share my experiences.

To share the ways He’s transformed my life and carries me through seasons that I never could survive on my own.

If that story helps someone become curious, if it helps someone ask deeper questions, if it helps someone feel less alone, if it helps lead someone one step closer to Him…

Then I’ve fulfilled my calling.

I no longer feel called to heal people. I feel called to help bring people closer to The Healer.

I was reading a devotional this morning about how often we blame ourselves for other people’s choices.

We replay conversations in our minds.
We wonder if we should have said something differently, done more, been more patient, or shown up in another way.

I’ve definitely been there.
And what I’m learning is that not everything is mine to carry.

Not every outcome is my responsibility.
Not every person’s choices are mine to understand or fix.

I think so many of us, especially those of us who are empaths and care deeply, have become so accustomed to taking on emotional weight that doesn’t actually belong to us.

We confuse compassion with responsibility.

We think if we just love enough, pray enough, or try hard enough, we can change someone else’s heart or circumstances.

But that’s not our job.
Only God can do that.

There’s a tremendous amount of peace that comes from realizing we can love someone deeply without carrying what was never ours to carry in the first place.

For me, that’s been another lesson in surrender.

Trusting that I don’t have to hold the weight of the world on my shoulders because it was never mine to hold.

If you needed that reminder today, I hope you receive it with grace. šŸ¤

Today I had the privilege of being interviewed for a Christian podcast.

She began by asking me to tell my story of how I connected with my faith.

I shared a brief summary of my Jewish upbringing, followed by years of searching for God, my experience with New Age spirituality, and ultimately my journey of finding Christ and getting baptized.

The host was a bit speechless by the time I finished. šŸ™ƒ

But then she started asking follow-up questions, and as I answered them and relived my journey, I couldn’t help but feel so incredibly grateful for all of it.

All of the experiences along the way that I needed to have.

All of the places I kept searching where I found God wasn’t.

At one point she asked me what I felt my calling is now that I’ve made this shift.

Without hesitation, I said, ā€œI’m here to guide the curious.ā€

To hold space for the people who feel like they may be living in the in-between.

Where what may have worked for them in the past doesn’t anymore, but they haven’t quite figured out what’s next.

My calling is to share my story, my experience, and my journey of leaning into my faith fully and completely during the most uncertain and chaotic period of my life.

Because I know that without Him, and without my faith, I would be in a very bad place.

The peace He gives me in the midst of all this chaos really is not of this world.

And the more I reflect on my own journey, the more convinced I become that none of it was wasted.

Every detour. Every question. Every search. Every unanswered prayer.

It all led me here.

And for that, I’ll always be grateful.

One of the hardest parts of faith, at least for me, has been holding onto it when it feels like my prayers aren’t being answered and God is silent.

When you’re praying for something with your whole heart and nothing seems to be changing, it’s easy to wonder if He’s listening at all.

I’ve had those moments, still have these moments.

I’ve wrestled with the waiting, with the disappointment, with trying to understand why the doors I so desperately want to open are staying firmly shut at this time

But when I look back on my life, I can see something I couldn’t see in the moment.

Some of the prayers that went unanswered turned out to be some of God’s greatest blessings.

At the time, I mistook His ā€œnoā€ or His ā€œnot yetā€ for His absence.

In hindsight, I can see that He was protecting me, redirecting me, preparing me, or writing a story that was far better than the one I was trying to write for myself.

The hard part is that you rarely see that while you’re living through it.

Faith is choosing to trust that God sees the bigger picture when all you can see is today’s disappointment.

It’s believing that His silence doesn’t mean He’s absent and that His delay doesn’t mean He’s forgotten you.

I’m still learning this myself.

And if you’re in a season where your prayers feel unanswered, I hope this encourages you the way I continually have to encourage myself:

Just because you can’t see God working doesn’t mean He isn’t.

Sometimes the unanswered prayer is the answer you’ll one day thank Him for.

One of the biggest things I’ve been learning lately is that not every thought deserves a seat at the table.

What if the thoughts keeping you stuck aren’t actually telling you the truth?

The thoughts that keep you anxious, overwhelmed, discouraged or uncertain.

What if the reason you feel exhausted isn’t because of your circumstances, but because you’ve been carrying thought patterns that were never meant to lead you?

The world tells us to trust ourselves above everything else.

But I’ve found that some of my greatest peace has come from learning not to trust every thought that passes through my mind.

So now I ask myself, ā€œis this rooted in faith or fear?ā€

For me, renewing my mind isn’t about positive thinking.

It’s about replacing fear with truth.
Replacing control with trust.

Replacing the constant need to figure everything out with faith that God already sees the bigger picture.

✨ What’s one thought you’ve had to challenge lately instead of automatically believing?

ā€œDo not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.ā€

For years, I thought growth meant becoming stronger, more independent, and more capable of handling life on my own.

But the deeper I walk with God, the more I realize that some of the most powerful lessons point in the opposite direction.

ā€œBlessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.ā€
Blessed are those who recognize their need for God.

That hits differently for me now than it ever has before.

This season I’m currently in has stretched me in ways I never expected. There are still unknowns. There are still prayers I’m waiting on. There are still days when I’d love to know exactly how everything is going to work out.

This week particularly has felt extra challenging for some reason.
But instead of trying to control it all, I’m learning to surrender it.

And what I’ve found is that peace isn’t found in having all the answers. It’s found in trusting the One who does.

Maybe that’s why so many of us stay exhausted. We’ve been taught that strength means carrying everything ourselves.

Meanwhile, Jesus teaches that blessing begins when we stop pretending we can.

So if you’ve been caught in this web of self-reliance, thinking that if you surrender it to God, you’d be giving up your free will, what if you reframe this for yourself?

What if it’s not about what you give up, but about what you gain in the process.
