It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that we announce the sudden passing of Dr. Laura Kovalcik, D.O., FACOI, beloved physician, healer, mentor, and owner of The Downing Clinic.
For decades, Dr. Laura dedicated her life to caring for others with compassion, intelligence, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to helping her patients achieve better health naturally. She touched countless lives through her practice, her listening ear, and her genuine desire to help every person who walked through the clinic doors feel seen, heard, and cared for.
Dr. Laura graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and devoted more than 25 years to practicing internal and integrative medicine. She carried on the legacy of The Downing Clinic with the same heart and dedication that her mother, Dr. Nedra Downing, began in 1991. (Natural Therapies)
To her patients, she was more than a doctor. She was a trusted guide, an advocate, and often a source of hope during difficult times. Her passion for natural healing, nutrition, and treating the whole person made a lasting impact on this community and beyond.
Our hearts are with her family, friends, staff, colleagues, and the many patients whose lives she changed forever.
Dr. Laura’s compassion, wisdom, and beautiful spirit will never be forgotten.
