Found a turtle on my walk today and it made me slow down. 🐢

I watched him move with no rush, no urgency, just trusting his own pace.

We spend so much time hurrying through life that we forget we’re allowed to slow down too.

Turtles are known for longevity, and today this little soul reminded me that maybe life isn’t about racing… maybe it’s about being present enough to experience it. 🐢

I bet you reached for your phone before saying good morning.

Most of us do.
But have you ever wondered why?

Your subconscious is trained to keep you busy, distracted, and constantly stimulated.

Because patterns become automatic.

The good news?

What’s been trained can be unlearned.

The nervous system can relearn stillness.
Your mind can relearn presence.
And your body can remember what calm feels like.

💇‍♀️ National Hairstylist Mental Health Awareness Day 💇‍♀️

As a hairstylist who’s experienced burnout, I know how heavy this work can feel.

Behind the chair, it’s so much more than hair.

We hold conversations, carry emotions, celebrate milestones, comfort heartbreak, and listen to life stories day after day. We become the safe space… the confidant… the unofficial therapist.

And while we pour so much into others, it’s easy to forget that we need support too.

The professional beauty industry can be beautiful—but it can also be physically demanding, emotionally draining, and nonstop. Long days, packed schedules, constant giving, and little time to fully reset can leave our nervous systems running on empty.

National Hairstylist Mental Health Awareness Day is an important reminder that it’s okay to have off days. It’s okay to need rest. It’s okay to create healthier boundaries and prioritize your own wellness too 🤍
