Last week, we had the joy of celebrating someone truly special — Wendy Boatright, who is retiring after an incredible 40+ years of service to Evans Memorial Hospital and this community!

The turnout said it all. So many people came out to show their love and appreciation for Wendy, and it was a beautiful reminder of the impact one dedicated person can have over a lifetime of service!

Wendy, thank you for everything you have given to this hospital and to the people we serve together. We wish you and Steve all the best in this exciting new chapter — you deserve every bit of it!

A stroke can happen suddenly, but recognizing the warning signs quickly can save a life. At Evans Memorial Hospital, we encourage our community to remember the acronym FAST:

🔹 F – Face drooping
🔹 A – Arm weakness
🔹 S – Speech difficulty
🔹 T – Time to call 911

Every second matters during a stroke. Acting quickly can help reduce long-term damage and improve recovery outcomes.

You can also lower your stroke risk by:
✔ Managing blood pressure
✔ Staying active
✔ Eating a healthy diet
✔ Avoiding to***co use
✔ Keeping regular checkups

🏥 Day 5 — Hospital Week 2026 Grand Finale! 🏥

We saved the best for last! Today our incredible team came together and formed the shape of an H — just like the blue hospital signs that guide our community to us every single day. Because no matter what, Evans Memorial Hospital will always be here for you. 💙

Every team member received an Evans Memorial Hospital t-shirt this week as a small token of our appreciation — and today everyone wore them proudly to close out an unforgettable Hospital Week! 👕❤️

To our entire team — thank you. Thank you for showing up every single day with heart, dedication, and compassion for the people of this community. This week was for YOU and you deserved every single moment of it. 🏥

🦸 Day 4 of Hospital Week and our superheroes have ARRIVED! 🦸‍♀️

Today's theme — Not All Heroes Wear Capes — and honestly, truer words have never been spoken. Our team dressed up as their favorite superheroes today, but the truth is they are already heroes every single day in those scrubs! 💙

We celebrated with pizza for lunch because saving the day works up an appetite! 🍕 And if that wasn't enough — our friends from Coca-Cola stopped by to give our team samples of their newest energy drinks! ⚡🥤 Our superheroes are fueled up and ready to go!

Evans Memorial Hospital is so incredibly proud of this team. They show up for our patients, our community, and each other — cape or no cape. 🏥❤️

🌈 Day 3 of Hospital Week and we are showing out in Teamwork in Every Shade! 🌈

Each department rocked their assigned color today as a reminder that great care is never a solo effort — it takes every single one of us working together to make Evans Memorial Hospital the special place it is! 💙

And because our team deserves all the good things — snacks were served in the private dining room from 2:00–3:00 PM this afternoon! 🍿😄

Three days in and this team just keeps showing up and showing out. We could not be more proud! 🏥❤️
