Is there a connection between autism and epilepsy? 🧠

Although they are different conditions, it’s possible to have autism and epilepsy at the same time. A 2013 study of more than 5,800 children found that 12.5% of children with autism also had epilepsy, compared with around 1% of children overall. 🧒👧

Although there does appear to be an overlap, the relationship between the two conditions is not yet fully understood.
