Who is eligible for the Shield blood test?
The Shield blood test is designed for adults age 45 and older who are at average risk for colon cancer and are due for routine colorectal cancer screening. It is not recommended for people at higher risk, such as those with a personal history of colon cancer or colon polyps, inflammatory bowel disease, certain hereditary colon cancer syndromes, or a strong family history of colorectal cancer. If you're unsure whether you qualify, we're happy to help determine if this screening is right for you.
