Did you know that some common heart medications can make your skin more sensitive to the sun? If you're taking blood pressure medications, cholesterol-lowering drugs, or certain blood thinners, you may be at a higher risk for sunburn and skin reactions during the summer months.
As we continue to recognize UV Safety Awareness Month, here's a reminder to talk to your doctor or pharmacist about whether any of your medications increase your sun sensitivity. And when in doubt, wear sunscreen, stay in the shade, and keep a water bottle close by. Your heart and your skin will thank you.
