Sitting at a desk all day? Your body is keeping score.

If you work at a computer, drive for a living, or spend hours in meetings, you're putting repetitive stress on your neck, back, wrists, and hips — often without realizing it until the pain becomes constant.

Here are 5 simple things you can do RIGHT NOW to protect your body:

1️⃣ WRIST FLEXOR STRETCH
Extend your arm straight out, palm up. Use your other hand to gently pull your fingers back toward you. Hold 15-20 seconds, then switch. This helps prevent wrist strain and carpal tunnel symptoms.

2️⃣ CHIN TUCKS
Sit up straight, then pull your chin straight back (like you're making a double chin). Hold for 5 seconds. Repeat 10 times. This counteracts the forward head posture that causes neck pain and tension headaches.

3️⃣ SEATED FIGURE-4 HIP STRETCH
While sitting, cross one ankle over the opposite knee. Gently lean forward until you feel a stretch in your hip/glute. Hold 20 seconds each side. Your hips will thank you.

4️⃣ STAND UP EVERY 30 MINUTES
This is the single most important thing on this list. Set a phone timer. Stand up. Walk for 2 minutes. Studies show this alone significantly reduces back pain and joint stiffness.

5️⃣ SHOULDER BLADE SQUEEZES
Sit tall, squeeze your shoulder blades together like you're trying to hold a pencil between them. Hold 5 seconds. Repeat 10 times. This fights the rounded-shoulder "desk posture" that leads to upper back pain.

The key? Consistency. These take less than 5 minutes but can make a huge difference over time.

If you're already dealing with persistent wrist pain, numbness in your hands, or chronic back/neck problems that won't go away — it may be time to see a specialist.
