Just in case... Stay safe everyone! Tomorrow is the big day. It's official. Signed at 6:00 am. It even made it on TV. I just got so sad! Don't forget that Facebook's new rule (aka Meta) comes into effect tomorrow, allowing you to use your photos. Don't forget the deadline is today!.

We recently reset a monument that had settled and leaned to the point that it fell face down in the dirt. it was a nice monument, but the foundation was not. In fact you can see circled in the picture where someone, at some time had capped the foundation. it simply broke off while removing the old footing. we fixed it by digging all of the old footing out, drilled 3 piers, and poured new concrete.

In the memorial business this is always a very busy time of the year, and I do everything I can to "get the job done". Unfortunately, this year it just won't stop raining.
I helped put Veterans flags out at one of our cemeteries yesterday and there was water standing in several parts of the cemetery, and more rain in the forecast for today and tomorrow.

I had a conversation with a gentleman today about a monument that was purchased from another individual, & I was told this granite came from China.
I will say this. Yes, China granite is cheaper, but the last time I got granite from China was many years ago, and when I opened the crate there was an empty bottle of black shoe polish left in the crate. It was China Black, & that's how they make it appear darker.
Since then, I refuse to use China granite! My families deserve the best.

We re-set roughly 80-100 monuments every year.
We remove whatever was used for a footing, and re-set them using our pier system, & mix real concrete, we don't use dry mix concrete. Our system has proven to be very successful for holding monuments in their place. If you purchase a monument somewhere that doesn't do this, it could cost several hundred dollars for us to re-set it. I already have 50 to fix this year.
It cost nothing to check with us first.

I had a client that came in and purchased a monument this morning, & in our conversation he informed me that he was advised to go to another (un named) place, that they would be cheaper than us here at Legacy Memorials.
He checked it out and said that we were $400.00 cheaper.
We don't claim to be the cheapest, but quality is very important to us, and we most definitely take pride in our work.
