It’s Harford County Farm Fair week Harford County Government, and we’re taking a moment to spotlight a little piece of MB HomeCare’s story you might not know.

Before becoming Managing Director, Emma was a 4-H kid learning the values of “Head, Hands, Heart, and Health” long before stepping into leadership.

Back then, it looked like early mornings, long days, and caring for animals like those pictured here; Lisa, Bobby, and Dakota. Today, those same values show up in how our team serves families every day:

• Head: thoughtful, solution-focused care
• Hands: showing up and doing the work
• Heart: genuine compassion for every client
• Health: consistency you can rely on

The setting may have changed, but the foundation hasn’t.

We’re grateful for leaders who bring those values into everything we do. And yes… we’re also grateful for the throwback photos that keep things humble 💚

Q- How do I talk to a parent who is nervous about having someone new in their home?

A- This conversation goes best when it’s approached gently and collaboratively.

Instead of focusing on what they can’t do, focus on what this allows them to keep doing. For example:

Staying in their own home

Keeping their routine

Having support without relying entirely on family

It can also help to start small. Trying a few hours a week feels much more approachable than a major change, and reassuring them that they’ll have a say in who comes into their home can make a big difference. Telling your parents that it will give YOU peace of mind and comfort to know they have some support can make a huge difference!
