Norris D. Bass, 92 of Sanford died Saturday August 29, 2026 at Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant. He was born October 30, 1933 in Midland the son of the late Charles & Hattie (Grim) Bass.

Norris married Alice M. Dice January 29, 1955 in Midland. He had worked as a carpenter with the Northern Midwest Regional Council of Carpenters Local 706 of Saginaw. Norris enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and feeding his squirrels.

Survivors include his wife Alice (Micky) of Sanford, daughter Becky (Jerry Pontious) of Coleman, granddaughters, Jeri (Nathan Kimpel), Christina (Jon Kelty) great-grandchildren: Caleb, Hannah, Rebekah, sisters, Wanda (Mike) Wilson, Winona Kenyon, brother Dave (Sue) Bass, sister-in-law Alberta Bass, brother-in-law Barry Dice many nieces and nephews. Norris was also preceded in death by his son Daniel, brothers: Jim (Joyce) Bass, Lloyd Bass, LeRoy (Shirley) Bass, Doug Bass, sisters: Eva (John) Heminger, Evelyn, Beryl (Ronald) McClain.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday September 1, 2026 at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc., Coleman, with Pastor David Kissinger officiating. Burial will take place in the Jerome Township Cemetery, Sanford. Friends may call at the funeral home of Tuesday from 10 am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, please go outdoors and enjoy nature.

Gary Lee Stiller, 77, of Beaverton died at home Wednesday August 26, 2026, with his family by his side. He was born November 26, 1948 in Ludington the son of the late Claude & Josephine (Padget) Stiller, Sr..

Gary married Diane M. Yancer April 16, 1977 in Coleman. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and then with the Army National Guard in Midland for 9 years. Gary retired from Robinson Industries in 2012 after 44 years. He was a member of the Coleman VFW Post # 1071.

Survivors include his wife Diane of Beaverton, daughters LeeAnne Stiller and Roxanne Stiller both of Gladwin, grandson Hunter Lee Augustine, several nieces and nephews. Gary was also preceded in death by his brother Claude Stiller, Jr.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday August 31, 2026 at the Coleman Faith United Methodist Church with Pastor Marty Cobb officiating, a luncheon will follow after the committal service at the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in the Dale Cemetery, Gladwin County. Friends may call at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2-6 pm and at the church on Monday starting at 10 am until the time of services. Memorials are suggested to the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Midland, in honor of Gary’s loved ones that have passed from cancer and the ones who are still “fighting the fight.”

Glenna J. O’Dell, 96, of Coleman died Sunday August 2, 2026 at home, with her family by her side. She was born August 11, 1929 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late David & Zela (Owens) Williams.

Glenna J. Williams married Hugh A. O’Dell September 18, 1948 in North Bradley. She was a loving mother and is adored by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She retired from Meridian Public Schools in 1990 after 20 years of service. Glenna loved to hand quilt breathtaking beautiful quilts, baking for family and friends, also baking cookies for Political Candidates for their events.

Survivors include her husband Hugh of Coleman, children Brent & Peggy O’Dell of Shelby Township, Becky Rittenger of Linden, 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, brothers Boyd & Ann Williams of Spanish Lake Missouri, Clark Williams, Kelly & Helen Williams, sister Melody. She was also preceded in death by her son Timothy O’Dell, daughter-in-law Linda O’Dell, son-in-law Mark Rittenger and 7 loving siblings.

Funeral and Committal services will be held 11:00 am Thursday August 6, 2026 at the Coleman Wesleyan Church with Rev. Scott Hayes officiating. Burial will take place in the Geneva Community Cemetery, North Bradley, Michigan. Friends may call at the church on Thursday starting at 10 am until the time of services. Memorials are suggested to the Coleman Wesleyan Church.

Timothy R. Smith Jr., 65, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City. He was born on July 25, 1961, in Clare, the son of Timothy Sr. and Sharon (Orvis) Smith.

Tim married the love of his life, Joanna "Jodie" Smith, on July 26, 2010, in Mt. Pleasant. He worked as a mason throughout the tri-county area with MidMichigan Masonry, helping construct several local buildings, including Walgreens and McDonald's restaurants, before retiring in 2009.

Tim enjoyed hunting, classic cars, motorcycles, and attending car shows. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature and the joy he found in the hobbies he loved.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jodie, of Mt. Pleasant; his children, Stephanie (Steven) Lehman of Middleville and Timothy R. Smith III of Mt. Pleasant; his beloved granddaughters, Reese Lehman and Devan Smith; his stepchildren, Jessi (Jessica) Martinez of Lupton, Colorado, Brittaney Robberstad of Port Huron, and Dylan Spor of Lafayette, Louisiana; his step-grandchildren, Madysin, Lilly, Daisy, Violet, and Jah-Seh; his mother, Sharon Lynch of Coleman; his sisters, Lori Foess of Clare and Jami (Steve) Rogers of Coleman; his brother, Scott (Lara) Lynch with whom he shared a special bond; as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy R. Smith Sr.; his brother, Jeff Smith; his stepfather, James Lynch; his brother-in-law, Vince Foess; his nephew, Christopher Hockemeyer; and his niece, Nicole Hockemeyer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at O'Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Scott Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and again on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society.

Leland L. Filhart, 91, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday July 21, 2026 at Meridian Acres in Sanford. He was born July 26, 1934 in Ferndale, the son of the late Gerald & Glenna (Amstutz) Filhart.

Lee married Dorothy Ekberg in Washington State. Leland proudly served with the U.S. Army in Korea and Vietnam. He traveled the world with the Army and enjoyed his time in Panama and Texas where he married Sandra Poe-Filhart in 1967. After leaving the Army, Lee worked as a civilian contractor and truck driver. He was a member of the Warren Masonic Lodge #427 of Coleman. Lee married Carrie Benton on March 21, 1992 and she preceded him in death in 2016.

Lee is survived by his children: Charlie Keyes, Gary Filhart, Michael Filhart, Cookie Filhart-Laird, Tony Filhart, Christine Humes. He is also survived by siblings: Bill Filhart, Michael & Emily Filhart, Stanley & Tuyet Filhart, Joyce LeForce, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Lee was also preceded in death by his son Hank Filhart, brothers Leonard, Fred and sister-in-law Ester

Military Honors, Masonic, funeral and committal services will be held 11:00 am Saturday July 25, 2026 at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. with Chaplain Teal David Saylor officiating, a luncheon will follow at the Coleman Masonic Lodge #427. Burial will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday starting at 10 am until the time of services. Jimmie L. Monroe, 88, of Remus, died at home Saturday July 18, 2026, with his family by his side. He was born December 1, 1937 in Denver Township, Isabella County, the son of the late Charles & Hazel (Reese) Monroe.

Jimmie married Irene L. Ockert April 15, 1978 in Weidman. She preceded him in death May 7, 2026. Jimmie owned and operated a dairy farm for 12-15 years after retiring from working in the oil fields. He also enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his children: Tracy & Paula Esch, Kelly & Willie Shinabarger, Vicky & David Chester, Tom & Alice Monroe, Mike Monroe, Kim Myer & Don Vollmar, Jane Skinner & James Edwards, Becky & Pete Carlson, Susan Monroe & Hank Sprague, 37 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, sister Shirley Feltman and several nieces and nephews. Jimmie was also preceded in death by his son Ricky, grandchildren: Toni Esch, Brandon Skinner, Eli Monroe, brother Robert Monroe, son-in-law Raymond Skinner and brother-in-law Michael Feltman.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday July 22, 2026 at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Ray Freeze officiating, with a luncheon to follow at David Monroe’s home, 11935 East Denver Road, Coleman, MI 48618. Burial will take place in the Riverlawn Cemetery, Isabella County. Friends may call at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 6-8pm and on Wednesday starting at 10 am until the time of services. Memorials are suggested to Corewell Health Hospice, 1239 E. Shirley Kay McDougle, 72, of Coleman, died in Saginaw, Friday July 10, 2026 as the result of an automobile accident. She was born June 25, 1954 in Midland the daughter of the late William & Orpha (Griffus) McDougle.

Survivors include her siblings: Donna & Ray Hammond of Indiana, Jean Mapes of Coleman, Melvin & Karen McDougle of Florida, lifelong companion Tim Salter of Coleman, several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Roy “Lyman” Tanner, 75, of Coleman, died Sunday June 28, 2026 at MyMichigan Medical Center, Midland. He was born November 11, 1950 in Flint the son of the late Albert & Norma (Decker) Tanner.

Roy L. Tanner married Laurel L. Smith July 17, 1971 in Mt. Morris. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Lyman enjoyed the farm life. Tending to his livestock and harvesting their feed. He loved fishing. .

Survivors include his wife Lauri of Coleman, children: Scott Tanner of Bay City, Stephanie Roper of Coleman, Sarah & Daniel Karl of Midland, Troy & Samantha Tanner of Shepherd, 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brother Mark & Tammy Tanner of Montrose, sisters, Gloria Couvillan of Florida, Mary & Aaron Zimmerman of Clio, sisters-in-law Barbara Tanner and Melinda Tanner, many nieces and nephews. Lyman was also preceded in death by his children Shelly Renee Tanner, Stacie Dawn Tanner, granddaughter Danielle McKenna Karl, brothers James and Steven.

Funeral services will be held 7:30 pm Thursday July 2, 2026 at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Andy Molyneux officiating. Burial will take place in the Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Friends may call at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday starting at 2-4 & 6 pm until the time of services.

Anna A. Kennedy, 90, of Coleman, died Thursday June 25, 2026 at MyMichigan Medical Center, Midland. She was born February 17, 1936 in Kastania, Greece the daughter of the late Alexios & Katerina (Athanasiou) Kazakos.

Anna A. Kazakos married Ronald J. Kennedy April 14, 1962 in Athens, Greece. He preceded her in death October 25, 2019. Anna retired from the American Red Cross where she had worked since 1962. She was lifetime member or the Greek Orthodox Church. Anna enjoyed baking Greek food and knitting.

Survivors include her children: Katerina & Todd Anderson of Lubbock, Texas, Janie & Bill Evans of Coleman, Ronald Kennedy of Pueblo, Colorado, Chris Kennedy of Appleton, Wisconsin, grandchildren: Anna, Reina, Kristan, Sophia, Michelle, David, Nick, Madison, great-grandchildren: Rory, Grayson, Mina, Arlo, Evelyn, brother Hristos, Kazakos, several nieces and nephews. Anna was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Karen Kennedy, siblings: Mary Lou, Bob, Nancy, Helen, Dorothy and Beatrice.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday July 6, 2026 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Saginaw, with Rev. Timothy Cook officiating. Burial will take place in the Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Friends may call at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc., Coleman on Saturday June 27, 2026 from 4-7 pm and at the church on Monday July 6, starting at 10 am until the time of services. Memorials are suggested St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 4970 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, MI 48603.
